The national tour of ANYTHING GOES, the new Broadway revival of Cole Porter's timeless classic musical theatre masterpiece, will make its Cincinnati premiere February 17-22 as part of the 2014-2015 Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Cincinnati Season presented by TriHealth. Tickets are on sale now and available at the Aronoff Center Box Office downtown at 650 Walnut Street, online at CincinnatiArts.org or by phone at 513.621.ARTS. In a little town known as New York City, on a tiny street known as Broadway, the Roundabout Theatre Company took the 1930's Cole Porter classic Anything Goes and revived it on the Great White Way. Starring Tony Winner (soon to be two time Tony Winner) Sutton Foster as Reno Sweeney, Broadway's sweetheart Laura Osnes in the role of Hope Harcourt, and the legendary Joel Grey as Moonface Martin. The show went on to win the 2011 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, awarded Foster her second Tony, and also took home the prize for Best Choreography before closing in July 2012. Two years later, the award-winning revival hit the road in the U.S. national tour, surprisingly (coming from someone who saw the revival on Broadway) rivaling its New York counterpart. (more...)

ANYTHING GOES premiered in 1934, and the story takes place around the same year. The cruise liner the SS American journeys across the pond to London. The passengers are comprised of the luxurious upper class, sailors, gangsters, gamblers, entertainers, and a stowaway stock broker. Essentially, ANYTHING GOES is chock-full of shipboard romance between young and old, rich and poor. This leads to a quirky love story that is plentiful with comedic twists and turns. (more...)
