Gravitas (US and International) and Phase 4 Films (Canada) announced today that they have acquired VOD rights to JACKHAMMER, a male stripper comedy from writer/director/star Michael Hanus, co-writers Guy Christie, Duncan MacLellan, Julian Paul and Jason Burkart. The film features Jamie Kennedy, Jason Burkart, Peter Shinkoda, Robb Wells, Nicole Sullivan and a cameo appearance from Pamela Anderson. The film is slated for a VOD release with numerous cable operators, online platforms and Reelhouse.org online partnerships, worldwide on September 2nd, 2014.

This summer, TNT and Hyundai are coming together to reward viewers eagerly awaiting the August 13 premiere of the TNT original series Legends, starring Screen Actors Guild Award(R) winner Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings). As one of the largest theatrical events in the world, The New York International Fringe Festival boasts an impressive roster of world premieres yearly. Of them, Los Angeles native Joshua Metzger's new play Sitting Shiva will see its first three dimensional presentation this August. Christopher Scott will direct the 90 minute play. The Broadway and Regional vet cast includes Eddie Boroevich*, Neal Mayer*, and Jeffery Plunkett*. The Production Stage Manager is Katy Moore*, and the production will be designed by Joan Racho-Jansen. *Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association. Sitting Shiva is an AEA-approved showcase.
Lifetime Orders THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR Pilot; Ron Howard, Brian Glazer to Produce

Lifetime has ordered the drama pilot The Clan of the Cave Bear, based on Jean M. Auel's series of best-selling novels, it was announced today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime. A co-production of Fox 21 and Lionsgate in association with Imagine Television and Allison Shearmur Productions, the project will be executive produced by Academy Award(R)-winning director Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Rush) and Oscar(R) and Emmy(R) Award winner Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, 24), along with Allison Shearmur (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Cinderella), Linda Woolverton (Maleficent, The Lion King), who is writing the pilot, Francie Calfo (Gang Related, Empire) and Jean M. Auel. The project is targeted for a potential 2015 launch.

Casting has been completed for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of HAIR, the American Tribal Love-Rock musical, which won the Tony and Drama Desk Award for best revival of a musical in 2009. The additional cast members announced are Sarah Hyland as Chrissy, Mario as Hud, Jonah Platt as Woof, Benjamin Walker as Berger, and Kevin Chamberlin as Dad.

On Friday, June 20th, the brightest stars of televisions below the line talent in Daytime gathered at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles to honor their own at the 41st Daytime Creative Arts EMMY Awards. Although many of the individuals associated with nominated projects may not have been household names, there were many recognizable personalities such as Ron Howard, George Lucas, Leeza Gibbons, Jack Hanna and even Cookie Monster (David Rudman). On hand to disperse awards to over 50 categories were such noted performers as Melody Thomas Scott, George Chakiris, Ashley Tisdale, Lauralee Bell and June Lockhart, who has started her 81st year as a paid actress that included her role of Maria Ramirez on General Hospital for many years. The 2014 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, and presented by AT&T, today announced that during the Festival's 13th edition more than 400,000 people attended screenings, panels, talks and free community events – including the Tribeca Drive-In series, Family Festival Street Fair, Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day, as well as the first-ever Tribeca Innovation Week which featured the Storyscapes installation at the Bombay Sapphire House of Imagination, the Future of Film series, Games for Change, the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards, Tribeca Hacks , and TFI Interactive.
