The supernatural power of love is taking Pittsburgh by storm as the new Broadway and West End musical Ghost The Musical, adapted from the Academy Award-winning film, will premiere in Pittsburgh from Tuesday, December 31, 2013 through Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Heinz Hall. Ghost The Musical is part of the PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh series presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Broadway Across America and Pittsburgh Symphony. Single ticket prices start at $20 and go on sale to the general public on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 9:00 a.m.

Monday night, October 21st, 2013, at the Alvin Ailey Studios Michele Wiles presented her young company, Ballet Next, with three works in process.

For ONE NIGHT ONLY on Thursday, September 12, 2013, Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre celebrates "Throwback Thursday" and will be showing "The Jungle Book," the 19th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. Originally released on October 18, 1967, "The Jungle Book" is the story about the feral child Mowgli from the book of the same name by Rudyard Kipling. Directed by Wolfgang Reitherman it was the last animated feature to be produced by Walt Disney, who died during its production.

The current production of MARY POPPINS that's playing at The Muny is 'practically perfect', featuring some nice special effects, a wonderful set, and terrific performances that manage to capture the spirit of the 1964 Disney film, as well as the P.L. Travers books that inspired it. The original and familiar tunes of Richard and Robert Sherman mesh seamlessly with the new material created by composers George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, and it's all lushly orchestrated and performed. Additionally, Julian Fellowes has crafted a book that incorporates bits plucked from the movie as well as from Travers' original stories. This intermingling of the old with the new is surprisingly refreshing. This is a spectacular show that appeals to both children and adults.

Symphony Space, New York's home for innovative and diverse cultural programming on the Upper West Side, celebrates its 35th season of Music programs in 2013-14 with a stellar array of artists in imaginative, thought-provoking presentations. Robert Sherman has written a new musical called BUMBLESCRATCH. Sherman is holding a workshop today with aims to eventually open a production in London.

Buffalo native Michele Ragusa, who has been seen on Broadway in Young Frankenstein, Titanic and Ragtime, will play Lilli/Kate in a staged concert version of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate April 27 with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.The 8 PM performance will be conducted by Matthew Kraemer and directed by James Brennan.

The first singer to open the elegant new night club space was Broadway's extraordinary Patti Lupone last June, 2012. So it is only fitting that her Far Away Places be the first recording.
