Out Front Theatre Company, Atlanta's foremost theatre that exists to tell stories of the LGBTQIA experience and community, has announced casting for the Georgia premiere of the smash Broadway hit Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical. After a ten year absence, Atlanta cabaret and theatre icon Robert Ray returns to the stage (and straps on some high heels) in Out Front Theatre Company's production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Muiscal!  Ray will appear in the role of Bernadette Bassenger and will belt out classic tunes like "MacArthur Park," "We Belong," "True Colors,"  "I Will Survive" and many more!

The 2016 festival, which will be held July 26-31, will feature faculty-taught workshops, short films by screenwriting students and a documentary by an alumna. U-M interns will assist with the events.

Interrobang Theatre Project is pleased to conclude its 2015-16 Season, exploring "Unnatural Disasters," with the Midwest premiere of the psychological drama THE NORTH POOL by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph, directed by Co-Artistic Director James Yost*, playing May 27 - June 26, 2016 at The Athenaeum Theatre (Studio 2), 2936 N. Schimmel Center at Pace University is proud to host the return engagement of Gelsey Kirkland Ballet'sproduction of the perennial holiday classic The Nutcracker. Due to the success of the production's debut last season at Schimmel Center, this year's production of The Nutcracker will be performed over the course of a special two-week engagement, running tonight, December 11-21.

Following their critically acclaimed world premiere in December the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet returns with an evening of dance at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway on the southwest corner of 95th Street and Broadway) Friday, March 7 at 7:30PM and Saturday, March 8 at 7:30PM. This 20-member company, under the artistic direction of Gelsey Kirkland and Michael Chernov present their first mixed program including 'Raymonda Suite,' 'Leaves are Fading' Pas de Deux, 'Ballebille' from Napoli, 'Flames of Paris' Pas de Deux, 'Pas De Quatre' and 'Cavalry Halt.' As part of the shared vision that Ms. Kirkland and Mr. Chernov are attempting to fulfill with the creation of Gelsey Kirkland Ballet, Ms. Kirkland has provided her own personal touch to master works such as The Leaves are Fading, which was created on her at ABT by the renowned British choreographer Antony Tudor. The program also includes the New York premiere of Petipa's Cavalry Halt, a piece rarely viewed by US audiences.

TVline reports that Chris Carmack, who appeared in the freshman season of ABC's NASHVILLE, has been promoted to a series regular.

ABC Music Lounge's "Nashville"-inspired docu-web series, "On the Record," is live at www.abc.com/musiclounge with the original song, "Nothing in This World Will Ever Break My Heart Again," co-written by songwriters Kate York and Sarah Buxton and performed by Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has renewed Nashville for a second season. The country music drama stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere. The series, which kicked off last November, is currently averaging 6 million total viewers.
