Experience the ACA Cinema Project film series 'Family Portrait: Japanese Family in Flux' at Japan Society from Feb. 15-24.

Created and written by Tony Award winner J.T. Rogers, the series is loosely inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein's first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat. The series stars Golden Globe nominee Ansel Elgort, Academy Award nominee Ken Watanabe, Academy Award nominee Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keller, and more.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan (ACA) is sponsoring the seventh ACA Cinema Project — Emerging Japanese Films — as the cornerstone of its Japan Overseas Expansion Enhancement Project. Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) serves as the steward for the encore of this distinguished screening series.

Loosely inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein's non-fiction, first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat, the crime drama series, filmed on location in Tokyo, captures Adelstein's (played by Ansel Elgort) daily descent into the neon-soaked underbelly of Tokyo in the late 90s, where nothing and no one is what or who they seem.

HBO has shared photos from Sunday's Shogun World episode of Westworld. The episode features Maeve (Thandie Newton), Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman) and their band of host rebels journeying into a Delos park of violent delights that we've never seen before. The episode is titled “Akane No Mai.”

PACIFIC RIM UPRISING, the upcoming sequel of PACIFIC RIM from Legendary and Universal, stars John Boyega and hits theaters on March 23rd. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the film is set in the near future with Earth at war with the Kaiju, monsters that emerged from an inter-dimensional portal at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. The original film earned $411 million at the global box office.

Audiences at New York Comic Con were treated to a first look at the official trailer for PACIFIC RIM UPRISING. The upcoming sequel, from Legendary and Universal, stars John Boyega and hits theaters on March 23rd.

"3-D Auteurs," a 19-day, 34-film festival spotlighting stereoscopic movies by some of history's most distinguished directors, will run at Film Forum from Friday, November 11 through Tuesday, November 29. The festival spans 3-D's earliest days (including some turn-of-the-century films by pioneer Georges Melies) to the present, and represents virtually every genre, including Westerns, Film Noir, and Science Fiction.

Two of the most distinct and idiosyncratic voices in American independent cinema, the Austin-based filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner, will be the subjects of a retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image, Kumiko and the Zellner Bros., from February 28 through tonight, March 5, 2015. The brothers will appear in person tonight, March 5, at 7:00 p.m., with a preview screening of their latest film, the Sundance favorite, Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter. The retrospective will also include their early features Frontier, Goliath, and Kid-Thing, and a compilation of their short films in the program Zellernoids! Short Film Cavalcade.
