Tonight the Nightlife and Bistro Award-winning Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, celebrates its third anniversary, most suitably, with a special one-night engagement starring Billy Stritch, who opened the room on May 11 in 2006.

The 92nd Street Y continues the 2009 season of Lyrics & LyricistsTM with THE MAN GOT AWAY: IRA AFTER GEORGE. The show spotlights the hits - including 'Long Ago and Far Away,' 'The Man That Got Away,' and 'My Ship' - lyricist Ira Gershwin wrote with composers such as Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen and Kurt Weill, among others.

As previously announced, The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs will celebrate the 23rd Annual MAC Awards on Monday, May 18th at 7:30pm at B.B. King Blues Club (237 West 42nd St, Between Broadway 8th Avenue). This year's performers/presenters include Polly Bergen (Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award), Klea Blackhurst, Tyne Daly, Karen Mason, Marilyn Maye, John McDaniel, Rex Reed, Steve Ross, and Julie Wilson among others.

PROJECT SHAW, now in its third of the four-year series, continues tackling every play George Bernard Shaw ever wrote. This will be its 37th presentation. Shaw's rarely performed comedies, THE MAN OF DESTINY and THE GLIMPSE OF REALITY will be performed on Monday, MAY 18th at 7pm at the Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South. Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger, stars of the new hit Off-Broadway musical ROOMS a rock romance, will be this week's special guests on SIRIUS XM Live on Broadway hosted by Seth Rudetsky. Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit began preview performances on Thursday, February 26, 2009 and opened on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Shubert Theatre (West 44th Street). We were there to capture all the starry arrivals at opening night!

ROOMS a rock romance has music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman with a book by Goodman and Miriam Gordon, and is directed by Scott Schwartz (Golda's Balcony, Bat Boy: The Musical, tick, tick... BOOM!, Jane Eyre).

The 92nd Street Y announces final casting for the 2009 season of Lyrics & LyricistsTM, the Y's legendary American Songbook series. Linda Purl, La Tanya Hall, Johnny Rodgers and Hilary Kole join Polly Bergen, Lucie Arnaz, Tom Wopat, Marilyn Maye and more who will sing the songs of Ira Gershwin, Mel Torm? and DeSylva, Brown & Henderson. Charles Osgood returns to L&L as host, for the latter show. This is the first season curated by new series artistic director Deborah Grace Winer.
