Tony winner Leslie Uggams visited Carousel recently, where she hung out backstage with Renee Fleming and sang a bit of a song that the pair are both famous for singing.

Jumping genres with ease, Renee Fleming can currently be seen as Nettie Fowler in CAROUSEL, a role that has earned her a Tony nomination. According to OperaWire, the opera superstar now says she has an album in the works that will exclusively feature Broadway tunes. 

There is less than a week to go before the 72nd Annual Tony Awards, and last night the 2018 nominees got together for one of the last times before the big night to celebrate the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre and Special Award Recipients.

It wasn't long ago that Joshua Henry, who recently starred in the original Chicago company of Hamilton, brought us #HamJams- his own versions of Lin-Manuel Miranda's tunes. Now he's playing Billy Bigelow in Carousel (a performance for which he just earned his third Tony nomination) and he's mixing up the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein!

Six-time GRAMMY-winning bassist Christian McBride will headline a concert to benefit Luna Stage on Friday, June 1 at the Montclair Women's Club. This jazz luminary will be joined onstage by special guests. The program will include cocktails, dessert, a silent auction and dancing after the concert. Proceeds will support development of Luna's cutting-edge theater productions, classes in local schools, and community programming.

Just yesterday the nominees flocked to the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel, where they met with the press for the first time since getting the big news. A Musical Parody (www.theofficemusicalparody.com) is set to open this fall and is produced by Right Angle Entertainment and McSmith Family Entertainment. Tickets go on-sale in June.
