Following on from its critically acclaimed 2015 London run and 2016 UK Tour, Green Day's explosive Tony Award ® winning musical, American Idiot will be returning to it's London home at the Arts Theatre, for a strictly limited run from 8 July - 25 September 2016, with press night today 13 July.

This Autumn, Lauren Samuels (Bend it Like Beckham, BBC's Over the Rainbow, Grease), Ashleigh Gray (Wicked, Cool Rider) and Lizzy Connolly (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Xanadu) star in the European debut of Vanities, a classic American story. This brand new production features never before seen material with all new direction and choreography from Racky Plews (Footloose, American Idiot).

In the mid-west American town of Bomont, a small tight knit community are suspicious of any new-comer, and especially streetwise Chicago teenager Ren McCormack. Ren has moved from Chicago with his mother Ethel after the sudden departure of his dad. Eager to move on from his recent loss and keen to spread his wings in a new town, Ren's dreams of a new start are dashed when he discovers one curious fact about Bomont County; rock music and dancing are illegal.

In celebration of AMERICAN IDIOT's return to London this week, from Friday 8 July 2016, the critically acclaimed and celebrated UK production of Green Day's hit musical has released a selection of exclusive behind the scenes images from the show. 

911 and The Big Reunion star Lee Brennan will make his musical theatre debut when he joins the cast of Footloose: The Musical, playing the role of Willard from tonight 19 April to Saturday 18 June 2016.

As previously announced, double platinum selling artist Newton Faulkner joins the cast of Green Day's explosive Tony Award-winning musical, AMERICAN IDIOT, on its UK tour this spring. Newton will be taking on the role of Johnny from May 2016 after Matt Thorpe, who will open the role from tonight, 19 March at the Curve Theatre, Leicester until 7 May at the New Theatre, Oxford. Double Platinum selling artist Newton Faulkner joins the cast of Green Day's explosive Tony Award ® winning musical, American Idiot, on it's UK Tour. Newton will be taking on the role of Johnny from May 2016 after Matt Thorpe, who will open the role from 19 March at the Curve Theatre, Leicester until 7 May at the New Theatre, Oxford.  One of the UK's finest contemporary singer-songwriters, Newton's unique style of guitar playing and soaring vocals have made him a worldwide success since he burst onto the music scene back in 2007. 

Acoustic power doesn't mean this guy can't rock. The Daily Mail writes that singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner will join the UK tour of AMERICAN IDIOT at the New Alexandra Theatre on May 10, taking over for Aaron Sidwell. The site also reports that the production is eyeing a return to the Arts Theatre this summer.

Following on from its hugely successful and critically acclaimed London run at the Arts Theatre, Leicester Square, Green Day's explosive, Tony Award winning Broadway musical American Idiot, will now be extending its UK tour into July 2016, with four more venues added, including the Spa Theatre, Bridlington (7-11 June), Theatre Royal, Nottingham (14-18 June), Empire Theatre, Liverpool (21-25 June) and the Grand Opera House, Belfast (28 June - 2 July).

At a ceremony held today at London's Café de Paris, Steve Furst announced the nominees for the 16th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards. The announcement of the nominations marks the opening of the final voting stage (closes 31 January), with winners announced at the annual Awards Concert held on 21 February 2016 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
