The producers of CLUB VEGAS THE SPECTACLE have announced that they have secured the services of Nine News entertainment reporter Allan Raskall for the return Melbourne season at the Athenaeum theatre from May 29 2024.

Australian Musical Theatre Festival Artistic Director Tyran Parke has announced the line-up for the fourth Australian Musical Theatre Festival that he has curated.  The 2023 Festival will be held in various locations around Launceston from 17 – 21 May.

The hit musical FAME is ready to arrive at Crown Theatre. Fittingly for a show about the trials and tribulation of performing arts, I was behind the scenes for a look at the audition process, and learned the perspectives of some of the hopefuls, as well as director Rachael Beck and producer Marina Del Basso.

Byron Supper Club returns to the Byron Theatre on Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 January 2022 at 7pm.  Bookings are now open.  This return season follows the 2020 season that sold out before it opened.

THE WIZARD OF OZ, and HAMA Productions pulled out all the stops to stage a spectacular production at Crown Theatre, with an entertaining, energetic and colourful production being a wonderful way to kick off 2022 in the theatre.

Theater Resources Unlimited will present the monthly Panel, Developing New Works in a Virtual New World: Different Countries, Different Challenges on Thursday, January 28, 2021 via Zoom. The panel will be led by Australian producer Neil Gooding, New York producer Cody Lassen, and London producer Katy Lipson.

Next up on my local artists segment is the wonderful and incredibly hard-working Andrew CP, Artistic Director and Founder of Technicolour Theatre Company. Andrew is an award-winning director, performer and designer, currently completing a Bachelor of Theatre and Performance with the University of New England and is the Founder and Artistic Director of Technicolour Theatre Company. He has a number of directing credits and is proud to have held the position of 'Theatre Academic Mentor' for Earle Page College at the University of New England (Securing a Resident Fellowship and Cultural Bursary for achievements in Performing Arts), resident senior drama teacher at Spotlight Theatrical Company (2016-18) and Senior Drama Tutor for 'Raise Your Voice' (2017-present). In 2018 he founded Technicolour Theatre Company and its adjacent Youth Ensemble before acting as Convenor and Curator for the 2019 Gold Coast Festival of One Act Plays. Written by Brisbane playwright Bradley McCaw (who also stars as the titular character), Becoming Bill is a lovely, often a bit too cliche, musical that explores the everyday life of a modern family.

Chatswood Chase Sydney will present a series of intimate interviews with Australian stars of the stage and screen, and unveil the new season's trends, as it celebrates the arrival of Spring this September.

BARNUM, one of Broadway's most treasured musicals, returned to Australia in an all-new spectacular production running from April 27 to June 8, 2019. 

The original telling of the tale of PT Barnum has hit the stage in Melbourne in the wake of The Greatest Showman's box office success. With Todd McKenney in the titular role, the musical tells the tale of Barnum's rise from penniless sideshow operator to great impresario. With each triumph comes tragedy in the book by Mark Bramble but unfortunately in this production, we don't quite feel the tragedy.
