Junkyard Dog Productions announced today that the new musical COME FROM AWAY will begin performances on Broadway on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) and officially open Sunday, March 12, 2017, following productions at Washington DC's Ford's Theatre (Friday, September 2 - Sunday, October 16, 2016) and Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre (Tuesday, November 15, 2016 - Sunday, January 8, 2017), and two special benefit concert performances in Gander, Newfoundland (Saturday, October 29, 2016).

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, HAMILTON leading man Lin-Manuel Miranda will be exiting the show on July 9 to focus on his upcoming projects, including the starring role in Disney's MARY POPPINS opposite Emily Blunt. In a Heatstreet report last month, it was speculated that he will be replaced by his current alternate, Javier Muñoz, who steps in for Miranda on Sunday matinees. It appears that the rumors are true, because now they've been confirmed by Miranda himself. He told Washington Post reviewer Peter Marks:
