iO Theater announced that the long-running and critically-acclaimed Improvised Shakespeare Company is returning to Chicago on January 13, 2023 with its hit show, Improvised Shakespeare Chicago.  

Baby Wants Candy, the Completely Improvised Full-Band Musical, will perform a completely improvised, full-band musical Saturday June 4th 9:30PM @ Caveat for a special ONE NIGHT ONLY PERFORMANCE.

The Second City's A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens returns to Portland Center Stage at The Armory with a new Scrooge played by Isaac Lamb, new jokes, and the same uproariously funny experience Portland audiences have come to expect. Twist Your Dickens begins preview performances on Nov. 27, opens on Nov. 30, and runs through Dec. 23 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Ron West returns to direct. Rebecca Sohn joins the cast, while Darius Pierce, Sam Dinkowitz, Chantal DeGroat, Laura Modica, and Nicholas Kessler return with their signature,irreverent take on some of the season's most iconic characters. Written by The Colbert Report alumni and improv comedy veterans Peter Gwinn and Bobby Mort, Twist Your Dickens cuts through the typical sweetness of the season to offer something bold, fresh, and acerbically funny. 

Song of Seamus and the Psychedelic Squirrel takes you to Fort Tryon Park, under the shadow of the George Washington Bridge, where the animal gangs of gritty 1970's New York are fighting over our garbage. Battling the forces of pigeons (and other monsters), and the hazards of sex, drugs and rock & roll, one squirrel will give everything he has to save his brother!

The DCPA NewsCenter has reported that the new season at the Aurora Fox Arts Center has been announced. This is the first season under new Executive Producer Helen R. Murray.

Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 2018-2019 season will feature 11 productions along with a special 10th anniversary return engagement of Storm Large in Crazy Enough, a show that had its world premiere at The Armory in 2009 and became one of the company's biggest hits.

Second City alumni Carisa Barreca and Paul Jurewicz and local favorite Eric M. Messner join returning cast members Aaron Bliden, Anne Bowles, John Lescault, and Tia Shearer.

ANYBODY: An Improvised Historical Hip-Hopera, created by the critically-acclaimed improv group, North Coast, will play at the Connelly Theater in the East Village starting on September 20.

'You, Me, and Anxiety' is a solo cabaret show, written and performed by Rachel Schmeling, on the subject of mental health. This show is part stand up, part audience interaction, part musical journey and part panic disaster. Schmeling takes her audience on a wild one-hour ride into the mental state of someone dealing with anxiety and panic disorder.

ANYBODY: An Improvised Historical Hip-Hopera, created by the critically-acclaimed improv group, North Coast, will play at the Connelly Theater in the East Village starting on September 20. The fully improvised hip-hop musical is directed by Jody Shelton (Baby Wants Candy) and will run for five performances through Saturday, September 23.

Portland Center Stage at The Armory kicks off its 30th anniversary season with the "heart-gripping and cathartic" musical Fun Home, which swept the 2015 Tony Awards with five wins.

NYC has SPAMILTON, and now Chicago is getting in on the HAMILTON parody game!

The watch must finally come to an end for "Thrones! The Musical Parody," announcing today the fourth and final extension at Apollo Theater (2540 N. Lincoln Ave). The "Game of Thrones" send-up will close March 19, 2017 after an eight-month run at the Lincoln Park theater.

'Baby Wants Candy,' Chicago's celebrated comedy institution announces today its move to Judy's Beat Lounge at The Second City Training Center (230 W. North Ave) for a limited run, starting January 7 and running through March 25, 2017.
