ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY Cancels June Performance for Kristin Chenoweth's Tony Awards Gig

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Roundabout Theatre Company is canceling its June 7th matinee of On the Twentieth Century to accommodate star Kristin Chenoweth's co-hosting gig with Alan Cumming for the 2015 TONY AWARDS and the cast's performance that evening. Chenoweth will also be absent from the 8 p.m. show on June 6th.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the classic musical On the Twentieth Century, which will play a 20-week limited engagement through July 5, 2015 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). In honor of the show's five Tony nominations (including nods for stars Kristin Chenoweth and Andy Karl,) new production photos have been released. Check them out below!

BroadwayWorld has just learned that ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY star Kristin Chenoweth will be out again for Sunday's matinee. The star missed performances on Friday and on Saturday due to illness. Chenoweth's understudy is Mamie Parris. No word yet on when she'll be back in the show- stay tuned!

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway announced the nominees this morning for the 2014-15 season. The first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season, the organization is celebrating its 64th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater. The Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, Internet, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

Author Peter Gallagher Files Lawsuit for Stolen Idea of THE CABIN IN THE WOODS

Author Peter Gallagher filed a lawsuit against Joss Whedon, Drew Goddard, and Lionsgate Films, claiming that they stole the idea for The Cabin In The Woods from his own self-published novel. Gallagher claims that the film shares several key similarities to his 2006 novel The Little White Trip: A Night In The Pines, in which a group of five young people is manipulated into a horror movie scenario by outside forces.
