The Athena Film Festival (AFF) at Barnard College announced today its film slate, including opening night, closing night, and centerpiece films, as well as additional programming for the 2019 festival. The ninth annual festival, co-founded by the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College and Women and Hollywood, will take place February 28 to March 3, 2019, at Barnard College in New York City. AFF showcases films, television and content that tell the extraordinary stories of fierce and fearless female leaders from all walks of life. Stories of ambition, courage, and resilience amplify the voices of strong, bold women, curating a public discourse on gender equality, and changing the cultural conventions surrounding leadership.

NBC has it all on New Year's Eve as Carson Daly and Chrissy Teigen host “NBC's New Year's Eve” live from Times Square in New York with Leslie Jones. Keith Urban will perform live from Nashville and host the Jack Daniel's Music City Midnight: New Year's Eve from Nashville's Bicentennial State Park. This incredible line up of talent will introduce the biggest musical acts of the year (to be announced) and join the crowd in saying goodbye to 2018.

“Crazy Rich Asians” co-stars Henry Golding and Michelle Yeoh will reunite in Paul Feig's 'Last Christmas,' according to Variety. Yeoh was just been announced as an addition to the cast, which stars Golding and 'Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke.

Premium network EPIX® continues to amplify its original slate, adding to its scripted greenlights with the docuseries Elvis Goes There.  Premiering Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10pm, the four-episode, one-hour series follows renowned journalist Elvis Mitchell as he travels with A-list filmmakers and actors to places of inspiration around the world with unprecedented access, exploring how each location shaped their work and identity.

Eva Longoria Bastón will make her film directorial debut on workplace comedy '24-7,' which she will star in alongside Kerry Washington, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rupert Friend will star in Separation, directed by William Brent Bell and written by Nick Amadeus and Joshua Braun.  The film is produced by Bell together with Yale Productions' Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, Russ Posternak and Jesse Korman, and RainMaker's Clay Pecorin and Russell Geyser.   Executive producers are Seth Posternak and Dennis Rice.  Yale Productions' Jon Keeyes serves as a Co-Producer.

Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced today that it has added two shows to its 2018- 19 lineup-Grammy Award-winning comedian Lewis Black on Sunday, January 20, 2019 and Hollywood medium Tyler Henry on Sunday, March 10, 2019.

Actor, author and critically-acclaimed stand-up comedian Lewis Black returns to the McAninch Arts Center (MAC), located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage, Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 8 p.m. Black will rant on parents to politics in this engagement that is part of Black's "The Joke's on US Tour." Opening for Black will be special guest John Bowman. This show is recommended for mature audiences.  

The Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival (HSDFF), presented by Mountain Valley Spring Water, announced today that Missi Pyle, an actress with more than 160 film and television credits and Broadway stage experience, will serve as honorary chair for the 2018 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, the longest running all documentary film festival in North America.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) is pleased to announce that actor and comedian Jim Carrey and British actress Emilia Clarke will be honored at the 2018 British Academy Britannia Awards. Carrey will receive the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy Presented by Jaguar Land Rover, while Clarke will receive the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year.

ITVFEST, the country's only independent television series marketplace Presented by the Television Academy and Sponsored by HBO announced today the festival's first-ever official Jury of industry talent and executives. The ReFrame Stamp program launched on June 8, 2018 with the announcement of 12 films that earned the stamp out of 100 films surveyed. Significantly expanding its footprint in the growing faith-based market, global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B) has signed a multi-platform film and television first-look deal with Andrew and Jon Erwin and producing partner Kevin Downes, the filmmaking team behind this year's box office hit I Can Only Imagine, which was released by Lionsgate and sister company Roadside Attractions. The announcement was made today by Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chairman, Joe Drake, and Television Group Chairman, Kevin Beggs.
