STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was presented yesterday, May 21st in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets. To add to the festivities leading up to the Tony Awards, the free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District celebrated Broadway with star appearances and exciting performances from over 20 new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a live 12-piece orchestra. BroadwayWorld was there for the special concert event and you can check out photos from the festivities below!

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines and hosted by Norm Lewis, brought the best of Broadway to Shubert Alley this morning, featuring numbers from nearly 25 shows, which were accompanied by a live 12-piece orchestra. BroadwayWorld was on the scene to capture the alley-shaking performances, including Sierra Boggess and Jeremy Hays performing 'All I Ask of You' and Lewis singing 'Music of the Night'. On Twitter Watch, Sierra Boggess wrote ' Just did our photo shoot for @NOH8Campaign with @normlewis777!!!! #NOH8 The Phantom of the Opera, which is now in its 26th year on Broadway, celebrated yet another in a long line of milestones last evening, as it welcomed former LITTLE MERMAID co-stars Norm Lewis and Sierra Boggess to the cast on Monday, May 12, at the Majestic Theater. BroadwayWorld was there for their first curtain call and below, you can check it out, along with their backstage meeting with Andrew Lloyd Webber himself! The audience erupted in cheers last night, as history was made when Norm Lewis became the first African-American performer to star as The Phantom in the Broadway production. In attendance were stars ranging from Lea DeLaria, to Sherie Rene Scott and icons like Andre De Shields and Melba Moore, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and director Hal Price. They were joined by with friends, family, press and of course the show's usual sold-out audience. Following a long line of Phantoms, in a role created by Michael Crawford, Lewis brought his own unique talents, heart and incredible voice to the show, and has wonderful chemistry with his co-star, who gets even better each time she's returned to the show. If you're thinking about getting tickets - GO, you'll thank us later.'

The 25th anniversary production of MISS SAIGON's Gigi Van Tranh, Rachelle Ann Go ('Little Mermaid,' 'Tarzan'), made a surprise appearance singing 'And There It Is,' written and composed by Scott Alan ('Detour in Los Angeles,' 'Home'), at the celebrated musical theater composer's Wednesday night (May 13) concert at Hippodrome Casino-London. On stage, playing the piano, Scott performed at the Hippodrome for four consecutive evenings from Tuesday, May 13, to Friday, May 16.
