On Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m., San Francisco's celebrated Kronos Quartet returns to Zankel Hall for a program of new works, six of which were commissioned as part of Carnegie Hall's 125 Commissions Project, including the world premiere of Rhiannon Giddens's At the Purchaser's Option with Variations.  Additional commissioned works include Garth Knox'sSatellites; Kala Ramnath's Amrit (arr. Reena Esmail); Nicole Lizée's Another Living Soul; Tanya Tagaq's Sivunittinni (arr. Jacob Garchik); and Fodé Lassana Diabaté's Sunjata's Time(arr. Jacob Garchik) on which Diabaté will join the quartet on the balafon.

The Utah Symphony today announced that its acclaimed string musicians, led by Concertmaster Madeline Adkins, will perform a chamber music concert at St. Mary's Church in Park City on January 18, 2017.

The Prototype: Opera/Theater/Now festival and The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, present Silent Voices on Today, January 14 and Sunday January 15 at FIAF's Florence Gould Hall. 

The Comrades have announced their Winter 2017 production, PRELUDE TO A KISS by Craig Lucas. In an act that will secure the Company's legacy and provide a creative home for dance, Stephen Petronio Company has purchased Crows Nest, a 175-acre property in the Catskill Mountains.

The Interlochen Arts Academy and New York Philharmonic are pleased to announce a partnership that will launch in January. Four New York Philharmonic musicians, all Interlochen alumni, will travel to the school's Michigan campus for two intensive weeks of educational activities, and select students will travel to New York to attend a Philharmonic rehearsal and concert, and give a chamber concert at Lincoln Center's Stanley H. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) announces the November 17 release of its latest recording Concertos for Orchestra, the second under Music Director Louis Langree. The recording features the world premieres of three concertos for orchestra commissioned by the CSO: Zhou Tian's Concerto for Orchestra, Thierry Escaich's Psalmos and Sebastian Currier's FLEX.

On Monday, January 9, 2017 at 7:30pm, Bang on a Can will present the 2017 Bang on a Can People's Commissioning Fund concert, one of the most anticipated and reliable launching pads for composers in New York and beyond, as part of Kaufman Music Center's Ecstatic Music Festival at Merkin Concert Hall (Kaufman Music Center, 129 W. 67th St.).

Fourteen Utah Symphony musicians along with Music Director Thierry Fischer will head to Haiti in March 2017 on a service mission to bring classical music training to 100 young Haitian-born musicians from across the island nation.

The Celebrity Series of Boston has announced the line-up for the 3rd annual Stave Sessions, a unique music series that showcases the innovative, the experimental, and the collaborative approaches of emerging artists.  The 2017 Stave Sessions will take place March 21-25, 2017. 

As previously announced, Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude its revival of The Cherry Orchard on Sunday, December 4, starring Diane Lane, Chuck Cooper, Tavi Gevinson, John Glover, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Harold Perrineau and Joel Grey.
