Kronos Quartet Returns for New Works, 2/11

On Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m., San Francisco's celebrated Kronos Quartet returns to Zankel Hall for a program of new works, six of which were commissioned as part of Carnegie Hall's 125 Commissions Project, including the world premiere of Rhiannon Giddens's At the Purchaser's Option with Variations.  Additional commissioned works include Garth Knox'sSatellites; Kala Ramnath's Amrit (arr. Reena Esmail); Nicole Lizée's Another Living Soul; Tanya Tagaq's Sivunittinni (arr. Jacob Garchik); and Fodé Lassana Diabaté's Sunjata's Time(arr. Jacob Garchik) on which Diabaté will join the quartet on the balafon.

Utah Symphony Strings to Play January Chamber Concert at St. Mary's Church

The Comrades have announced their Winter 2017 production, PRELUDE TO A KISS by Craig Lucas. This classic romantic comedy will be directed by Artistic Director Derek Bertelsen and will play the Greenhouse Theater Center (2257 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago) from January 12 through February 4, 2017. The Interlochen Arts Academy and New York Philharmonic are pleased to announce a partnership that will launch in January. Four New York Philharmonic musicians, all Interlochen alumni, will travel to the school's Michigan campus for two intensive weeks of educational activities, and select students will travel to New York to attend a Philharmonic rehearsal and concert, and give a chamber concert at Lincoln Center's Stanley H.
