St. Ann's Warehouse continues its highly successful Inaugural Season in its "stunning" (New York Magazine) new theater on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park with the New York City Premiere of the American Repertory Theater's Nice Fish, conceived, written and adapted by Mark Rylance and Louis Jenkins, directed by Claire van Kampen, and starring Rylance. Signature Theatre has announced the cast of The Flick directed by Joe Calarco (Signature's Cake Off, Shakespeare's R&J). The Flick follows the story of three employees at a crumbling Massachusetts movie theatre and was called "the best argument anyone has yet made for the continued necessity, and profound uniqueness, of theater' by New York Magazine. Annie Baker's Pulitzer Prize-winning play will receive its DC area premiere in Signature Theatre's intimate ARK Theatre, March 1 - April 17. (more...)

The University of the Arts' Ira Brind School of Theater Arts announces the 2016 lineup for Polyphone, a "festival of the emerging musical" on the UArts campus in Philadelphia.  Running March 20-27, the 2016 the Polyphone festival produces staged concerts of new musicals and re-imagined canonical works offering professional composers, librettists and directors an opportunity to develop their work among the rich creative community of the Brind School at UArts.  The festival will program five musicals, including both classical and new works, with three performances each.   (more...)

The record, a collaboration with her partner, producer, and co-writer John Leventhal, musically, narratively, spiritually, and geographically explores the American South. For the second half of the program, Cash is joined by acclaimed musician Jeff Tweedy--founding member and leader of the American rock band Wilco--to perform songs from her storied musical catalogue with an emphasis on songs from her critically acclaimed 2009 album The List.
