MTV Kicks Off '2011 MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week' 5/30

The summer box-office has started to simmer, but MTV will bring it to a full sizzle with a week-long of exclusives from some of summer's hottest films during the '2011 MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week.' Beginning, Monday, May 30th through Friday, June 3rd, MTV and marquee talent from each film, including Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard, Aziz Ansari, Emma Roberts, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Michael Angarano and more will introduce a new exclusive clip at 11pm ET/PT on-air.

HAIRSPRAY at the Hollywood Bowl to Star Fierstein, Winokur, Bleu, Carey, DeGarmo, Jonas, Stamos & More

The Hollywood Bowl's production of HAIRSPRAY reunites original Broadway stars Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Both Fierstein and Winokur, playing mother Edna Turnblad and daughter Tracy Turnblad, were awarded Tony Awards for best leading actor in a musical and best leading actress in a musical respectively for their appearances in HAIRSPRAY on Broadway. This is the first time that they have performed these roles together in Los Angeles; this is also Fierstein's Hollywood Bowl debut.

Deadline.com reports that the 'is he in or is he out' chatter surrounding Alec Baldwin's participation in the Rock of Ages film can be put to rest, as the actor is back on track to fulful the role of nightclub owner Dennis Dupree. Earlier this week, The star had been said to have withdrawn for unspecified personal reasons, however announcements from New Line Cinema and his appearance on set at the read through yesterday seemed to indicate otherwise. Malin Akerman Joins ROCK OF AGES Movie!

According to Deadline.com, Malin Akerman has joined the cast of the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of ROCK OF AGES. Akerman will play Constance, 'a journalist who intends to write an expose on decadent rocker Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise).' Director Adam Shankan previously offered the role to both ANne Hathaway and Amy Adams.

Lee Pace Joins McKellen, Blanchett in THE HOBBIT

According to Peter Jackson's Facebook page, roadway veteran Lee Pace will join previously announced Cate Blanchett, and Ian McKellan in the Upcoming big screen adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's THE HOBBIT. Pace will play Thranduil. Filming is set to begin in February in New Zealand, as confirmed by MGM, Warner Brothers, and New Line, and Lord of the Rings director and Oscar-winner Peter Jackson will direct the two-part film.
