Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for the Alley Theatre's production of the Conor McPherson's THE SEAFARER. The Seafarer, by Conor McPherson and directed by Gregory Boyd, begins previews Friday April 6, opens Wednesday April 11 and runs through Sunday, April 29, 2012 on the Hubbard Stage. Due to critical praise and popular demand, Vineyard Theatre has announced a final extension - now through April 28 - for the new musical NOW. HERE. THIS., which opened to rave reviews and sold out houses at The Vineyard on March 28. This will be the second and final extension for the show, which must close on April 28 due to season and artist schedules.

On Sunday, April 15 at 4:00pm, The New Group will present this season's final presentation in Dark Nights at The New Group - Reflecting Rabe: Readings from David Rabe's Work. This event features readings of excerpts from David Rabe's acclaimed writing, from plays to fiction.

MTWorks and producer, Martha Goode, have announced the world premiere production of Riti Sachdeva's PARTS OF PARTS & STICHES, directed by Cat Parker.

Gotham Chamber Opera continues its 10th-anniversary celebration with a revival of Mozart's Il sogno di Scipione, which announced the company's arrival on the New York cultural scene ten years ago.

The Weight, a new play by Zac Kline (Messed Up Here Tonight, Big Star California), will be presented in a staged reading March 23rd at 7 PM at Chelsea Studios. Directed by Matthew Klein (Artistic Associate at the New Group), the cast includes with Blair Baker (Oleanna, Broadway/Mark Taper Forum), William Forber, Allison Hirschlag, Emily Olson (Together This Time, NYC Fringe Festival), Dan Stern, Conor Stratton, and Peter Zimmermann. The New Group presents the world premiere of An Early History of Fire, a new play by Tony Award-winning playwright David Rabe. Directed by Jo Bonney, this production features Deema Aitken, Gordon Clapp, Erin Darke, Jonny Orsini, Devin Ratray, Dennis Staroselsky, Theo Stockman and Claire van der Boom. Limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated April 5 - May 26 at The New Group at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Official Opening Night is set for Monday, April 30 at 7:00 PM.

An all-new cast of unlucky-in-love women hit 'The Big Easy' for Steve's brutally honest love lesson on why they are still single. 'Tough Love: New Orleans' premieres on Sunday, April 15 at 9 PM/8c.
