Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced nominations this morning for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards. LOST star Matthew Fox and THE GHOST WRITER's Olivia Williams will star in the world premiere production of Neil LaBute's IN A FOREST, DARK AND DEEP. LaBute will direct the production as well which is set to begin previews at the West End Vaudeville theater on March 3, 2010 before opening on March 14, 2010. The Break of Noon is a co-production with the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles (Gil Cates, Producing Director; Randall Arney, Artistic Director; Ken Novice, Managing Director). David Duchovny ('Californication,' 'The X-Files') stars as John Smith, a man who, amidst the chaos and horror of the worst office shooting in American history, sees the face of God. His modern-day revelation creates a maelstrom of disbelief among everyone he knows. A newcomer to faith, John urgently searches for a modern response to the age-old question: at what cost salvation?

Ellen Burstyn and Carol Kane as well as Bryony Hannah and Tobias Menzies are to join the previously announced Keira Knightley and Elisabeth Moss in Ian Rickson's production of Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour. The Children's Hour, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions & Scott Landis, will have its first preview at the Comedy Theatre on 22 January 2011 with press night on 9 February and is booking until 2 April 2011.

Comedy superstar and actor Dane Cook will make his Broadway debut this spring in the first Broadway production of Neil LaBute's FAT PIG at a theatre TBD. Cook will be joined by stage, film, and television actor Josh Hamilton (The Coast of Utopia, Away We Go). LaBute will make his Broadway directorial debut with the play, which he also directed in 2008 in the play's acclaimed London premiere, receiving an Olivier Award nomination for Best New Comedy. Further casting, design team, theatre and dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
