HomeGrown Theatre begins its 2014-15 season this September with Polaroid Stories by Naomi Iizuka. Iizuka's 1997 deconstruction of Ovid's Metamorphoses sets the historic cannon of Greek Mythology in the streets of the present day urban United States and fills the roles of gods and goddesses with a cast of disenfranchised street dwellers and travelers. Polaroid Stories confronts these tales of morality with nontraditional definitions of love, change and control through the hard-hitting language and action of 20th century street life and social decay.

Happy Medium Theatre (HMT) opens its 6th season with Language of Angels by Naomi Iizuka. Heading up the production is award-winning and widely-praised Boston Fringe director, Lizette M. Morris (DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, HMT, Elliot Norton Award Outstanding Fringe Production). The production runs for two weeks (October 23rd - Nov. 1st, 2014) as the final show at the Factory Theatre, 791 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02118.

Cygnet Theatre, in collaboration with Playwrights Project, is proud to present the third annual Playwrights in Process: New Play Festival. Cygnet Theatre has long been committed to celebrating human stories through the medium of live theatre. Playwrights in Process will present four readings of new plays by selected Southern California playwrights. Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, are proud to announce the Saturday, June 21 performance of Grounded, by George Brant and directed by Lisa Portes, at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. is a benefit performance for Children of War Foundation. Proceeds from the performance will go directly to surgery and medical treatment for Shah Bibi Tarakhail, an Afghan Child Affected by War. The running time is approximately 80 minutes. Grounded runs through July 13.
