This year, the Town Hall Theatre in association with Baboró International Arts Festival for Children will be bringing you exciting and vibrant shows for children and families. The first show we are delighted to be associated with is the brilliant 'Mr Foley The Radio Operator', performed by the wonderful Theatre Lovett on Saturday 1st February at 12.15pm and 2.15pm. TDP Student Musicians To Compete in Sphinx Competition

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Talent Development Program (TDP) student musician Myrtil Mitanga and TDP alumnus Xavier Foley are semi-finalists in the prestigious 2013 Sphinx Competition. The annual competition offers young African-American and Latino classical string players the opportunity to compete under a renowned panel of judges and to perform in a competition setting. Percussion Music Takes Center Stage at Musiqa's January 12 Concert

Contemporary classical group Musiqa will present its first 2013 concert, Percussive Illusions, at the Hobby Center's Zilkha Hall on January 12 at 7:30 p.m. The concert features the award-winning University of Houston Percussion Ensemble, directed by Blake Wilkins. The concert explores the evolution of percussion throughout the past century, highlighting its rhythmic virtuosity and timbral richness through a variety of works and instrumentation. Percussion's capacity to shape the experience of film is also explored in a trio of films curated by Aurora Picture Show. (more...)
