Tony Award nominee Rory O'Malley (THE BOOK OF MORMON) just debuted the world premiere of his autobiographical show, PUB CRAWL, at Joe's Pub on March 10, 2014. PUB CRAWL is Rory's coming of age story that tells the tale of being raised in an Irish pub on the west side of Cleveland by his single mom and all of the bar's eclectic patrons. Using classic Irish pub songs from The Wolftones, U2, Van Morrison and more, the evening will feature music direction by Tony and Grammy Award winner, Stephen Oremus. Last night the Danish String Quartet, the hottest young classical music group, were welcomed to New York in preparation for their upcoming Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concerts this Sunday at Alice Tully Hall and Monday at the Rose Studio, the Danish String Quartet enjoyed a night on the town. They began the evening by attending Broadway's After Midnight, featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center All Stars. Following the performance, they went backstage to congratulate the orchestra on their performance before heading to the McKittrick Hotel. They got to experience the end of Sleep No More before their pop-up performance at the Manderley Bar, where they played a brief 15-minute set of Beethoven quartets and Scandinavian folk songs. On Sunday, December 8, Joe Allen, owner of Joe Allen Restaurant, Orso Restaurant, and Bar Centrale (W. 46th Street, NYC) donated 50% of the entire day's proceeds from all three restaurants to Save the Children for the organization's Typhoon Haiyan Children's Relief Fund to benefit children affected by the super typhoon in the Philippines. The three restaurants total raised $10,000 to donate, and then a charitable regular at Bar Centrale matched their total. The grand total to be donated to Save the Children for their typhoon relief is $12,500.

Last night, August 29, the latest Medal of Honor recipient, Staff Sergeant Ty Carter, attended Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark. This past Monday, Carter was honored by President Obama this past Monday for rescuing a fellow soldier in Afghanistan. At the end of the performance, Bob Cuccioli (Green Goblin) gave a curtain call speech honoring Carter, and then welcomed him back stage for a meet and greet with cast members Rebecca Faulkenberry and Reeve Carney.
