Red Bull Theater presents the first-ever Off Broadway revival of Loot by Joe Orton. Red Bull Artistic Director Jesse Berger directs a company that includes Rebecca Brooksher (Fay), Eric Martin Brown (Meadows), Jarlath Conroy (McLeavy), Ryan Garbayo (Dennis), Rocco Sisto (Truscott), and Nick Westrate (Hal). Loot will have scenic design by Narelle Sissons, costume design by Sara Jean Tosetti, lighting design by Scott Zielinski, and sound design by Brad Berridge.

The Daily Mail writes that Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey) will star with Richard McCabe in Ivan Turgenev's FORTUNE'S FOOL at the Old Vic, beginning December 6. The play, to be directed by Lucy Bailey, hasn't been seen on the London stage since it was written 150 years ago. Glen will play Kuzovkin, a poor man living in a Russian estate.

This strictly limited engagement begins Wednesday April 10th and continues through May 4th only, at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for Thursday April 18th. Hardy directs a company that features Daniel Davis, Laila Robins, and Derek Smith.

BWW Reviews: ANJIN, Sadler's Wells, January 31 2012

In 1610 William Shakespeare wrote The Tempest and William Adams was shipwrecked onto the coast of Japan. Performed in conjunction with the RSC's season A World Elsewhere (director Gregory Dolan is also the RSC's artistic director), Anjin the Shogun and the English Samurai takes place in a politically tempestuous period of Japan's history. Yet writer Mike Poulton's story of the first Englishman to arrive and settle in Japan seems an apt and rather lovely choice for this year's J400 celebrations, marking four hundred years of UK-Japan relations.
