In this magnificently constructed spiral of fatality, multiple award-winning playwright David Paquet attacks our failing collective consciousness and the ensuing general apathy.

Just as the 2022 season comes to a close, work for the 2023 season is getting underway at the Stratford Festival. Creative teams for next year's productions are coming into place and the casting department is busy confirming key roles for the season. The Syracuse University Department of Drama begins the 2022/2023 season on Oct. 15.

Daniel Henning, the Founding Artistic Director of The Blank Theatre in Hollywood, is stepping down after 32 years, effective October 8, 2022. Henning founded The Blank Theatre in 1990.

Michel Tremblay and André Brassard, who altered the face of Canadian theatre in 1968 with the explosive premiere of Les Belles-Soeurs, at Montreal's Théâtre du Rideau Vert, have been named the joint recipients of this year's Herbert Whittaker Award. The biennial award, from the Canadian Theatre Critics Association, honours individuals for outstanding long-term contributions to the Canadian stage.

Audiences are loving The Shoe, an emotionally profound and wildly funny new play about an unusual young boy named Benoît and the adults who care for him. Québec playwright David Paquet is a recipient of the Governor General's Award for Drama and the Prix Michel Tremblay, and The Shoe is his newest play, produced at the Cherry for the first time in English.

An English-language musical inspired by Quebecer Michel Tremblay's play Les Belles-soeurs, is hoping to head to Broadway, according to Montreal Gazette.
