SAG Foundation Welcomes Liz Spaulding as New York Director

The Screen Actors Guild Foundation has enlisted marketing and development administrator Liz Spaulding as its first New York Director. Spaulding will manage all SAG Foundation operations in New York including the Actors Center at 1900 Broadway which opened in May 2014; expansion of performers programs and staff; industry and corporate relations; and development and fundraising.

La MaMa - the world-renowned theatre complex in the heart of New York City's East Village - today announced the cast for its first production of its 53rd Season entitled "LA MAMA EARTH," featuring works that raise awareness of world ecology and social justice both locally and globally. The centerpiece will be three diverse, international productions and adaptations of William Shakepeare's The Tempest from the US, Korea and Italy. All performances will be at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 East 4th Street, between Bowery & 2nd Avenue).

NYC Parks to Re-Open Brownsville Recreation Center Pool After $1.9 Million in Improvements

Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Kevin Jeffrey will join Borough President Marty Markowitz and Council Member-elect Inez Barron to reopen the Brownsville Recreation Center pool after a $1.9 million renovation. After the ribbon cutting, center members of varying ages will jump in the pool and Parks Aquatics Instructors will lead a water aerobics class. It's all set for tomorrow, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11 a.m.
