The Visit, recently nominated for 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical, will host a conversation with two iconic composers following this evening's performance, May 20. Tony Award-winning composer of The Visit, John Kander, will sit down with Tony Award winning composer of the upcoming Broadway musical Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The American Theatre Wing and the Village Voice just presented the winners of the 60th Annual OBIE Awards. The Public Theater's Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda (including special citations for Andy Blankenbuehler, Thomas Kail, and Alex Lacamoire) received the OBIE Award for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $1,000 check. The Signature Theatre's Founding Artistic Director James Houghton received the OBIE Award for Sustained Achievement. The Awards were hosted by OBIE Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria ('Orange is the New Black'). Yesterday evening, a couple that has been together for 33 years married in the best way theatregoers could hope to do: backstage at THE VISIT on Broadway.

Tony Award-winner Donna McKechnie is the standby for the lead role of Claire Zachannassian in The Visit, currently playing on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). The actress recently spoke to the New York Post about acting as understudy for leading lady Chita Rivera.

The company of Broadway's The Visit gathered in the studio today, April 27th, to record the musical's original cast album. The Visit is the final musical ever written by legendary Oscar Award, Grammy Award and Tony Award-winning composer John Kander and his writing partner lyricist Fred Ebb, before Mr. Ebb passed away. Produced by the Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated producer Michael Croiter (Matilda, Big Fish, Heathers), The Visit album will be released June 26th, 2015. George Takei, who will soon be making his Broadway debut in 'Allegiance' next Fall took in Kander & Ebb's new musical 'The Visit' and made a backstage visit to congratulate Chita Rivera after the show. The two shared a 'trekkie' moment in her dressing room. Tomorrow the cast goes into the recording studio to record the original cast album which will be out in June.
