Michael Dylan (The Stage Award 2022 for Wilf), Dave Hearn (founding member of the Olivier Award-winning Mischief Theatre) and Amy Revelle (Offside), will star in the UK premiere of The Time Machine, a fast-paced and wise-cracking retelling of the world-famous novel by H.G. Wells, written by Steven Canny and John Nicholson, based on a story created with Mark Shanahan.   

In the spirit of the holiday season, Westport Country Playhouse Radio Theater, a free-of-charge broadcast series, will reprise the inventive audio play, “A Merry Little Christmas Carol,” airing on WSHU Radio on Saturday, December 24, at 6:06 p.m. (following the national news), with a rebroadcast on Sunday, December 25, at 1:06 p.m.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the comedy, “Bad Jews,” on Monday, December 12, at 7 p.m., directed by Jen Waldman and written by Joshua Harmon. Most recently, Harmon co-wrote with Sarah Silverman the Off-Broadway hit musical, “The Bedwetter.”

The UK premiere of A Sherlock Carol, written and directed by Mark Shanahan, is now playing through 7 January at Marylebone Theatre.

Previews begin tonight, Monday, November 21, 2022, for A Sherlock Carol written and directed by Mark Shanahan (The Dingdong, A Merry Little Christmas Carol; NPR’s Ghost Light Series).  The show is playing a six-week limited holiday engagement at New World Stages.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the comedy, “Ripcord,” written by David Lindsay-Abaire on Monday, November 14, at 7 p.m.  Lindsay-Abaire is currently represented on Broadway with book and lyrics for the musical, “Kimberly Akimbo.”

Marylebone Theatre has released rehearsal photos for its UK premiere of A Sherlock Carol, written and directed by Mark Shanahan. The production will run at Rudolf Steiner House from 18 November - 17 January.

A Sherlock Carol, written and directed by Mark Shanahan, will return this holiday season at New World Stages for a six-week limited engagement. Broadway favorite Drew McVety (Billy Elliot, Spamalot) returns as the titular sleuth, with Allen Gilmore (The School for Scandal, Yale Rep’s Choir Boy) joining the company as Scrooge.

Three Christmases since the famous confrontation with his nemesis Moriarty at the Reichenbach Falls, Sherlock Holmes has little appetite for mince pies or for solving crime. Wandering through Victorian London, he meets a grown-up and not-so-Tiny Tim who implores him to investigate the mysterious death of his reformed benefactor, one Ebenezer Scrooge.

London’s newest performing arts venue, Marylebone Theatre, has launched with a world premiere directed by Tim Supple.  Marylebone Theatre, near Baker Street, intends to carve out a special place on the London cultural scene as a beautiful and grand but intimate setting offering cross-arts programming with theatre, music, dance and spoken word.

Marylebone Theatre presents a realisation of an unfinished, visionary work by Friedrich Schiller. Dmitry (based on the peerless dramatist’s incomplete play Demetrius), will launch the bold new venue’s inaugural season and will star The Crown’s Tom Byrne (The Crown, Netflix; Twelfth Night, RSC; Black Mirror, Netflix) in the title role. Classic Stage Company announced additional casting for A Man of No Importance. Joining the previously announced Jim Parsons in the production will be Alma Cuervo, Kara Mikula, Tony nominee Mary Beth Peil, Thom Sesma, Tony nominee A.J. Shively and more.

The full first season has been announced for Marylebone Theatre, London’s most exciting new venue.  The theatre recently announced its launch production Dmitry, a thrilling production by Peter Oswald, directed by the acclaimed Tim Supple in his return to London theatre.

Virginia Stage Company has announced their 44th season as Hampton Roads’ leading professional producing theatre company. Not since 2018 has VSC been able to open its doors to a fully in-house produced season, but in September of 2022, it eagerly welcomes its patrons to a full and in-person 6-show season at The Historic Wells Theatre.
