Following this spring's sold-out run of Afterwardsness, renowned director, choreographer, and dancer Bill T. Jones returns to Park Avenue Armory will present and perform in the world premiere of his monumental new work, Deep Blue Sea.

The Center for the Arts at George Mason University welcomes the return of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company with a thrilling world premiere co-commissioned by the Center, entitled What Problem? Saturday, February 1 at 8 p.m.

All in all, it's educational and fun and you can't ask for much more than that.

Don't expect any glass slippers in this remixed version of a popular fairy tale. Instead, get ready to be immersed into the world of Hip-Hop Hollywood, where being a DJ is a dream come true - especially for a girl. Directed and written by Psalmayene 24 (Psalm) with hip-hop beats by Nick Hernandez, Cinderella: The Remix is the final production of The Hip-Hop Children's Trilogy and teaches an extraordinary lesson in girl power.

YELLOW FACE, appearing at Theater J, is a serio-comedy by David Henry Hwang, based on his involvement in the casting controversy in 1990 regarding Cameron Mackintosh's insistence on having a white actor play a non-white role. The excellent production is well worth seeing.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company's annual Free For All is a much-loved Washington tradition, offering free Shakespeare performances to the general public for the past 22 years. This year the beloved tradition launches the Company's 2013-2014 Season by reviving Much Ado About Nothing, initially presented during the 2011-2012 Season with original direction by Ethan McSweeny. Much Ado About Nothing will run at STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from today, August 20-September 1, 2013. The story of a young teenager dealing with a mentally ill father, JASON INVISIBLE shows the power of friendship in an interactive theatrical experience directed by Rosemary Newcott of Atlanta's Alliance Theatre.

Even if you have heard the Tuskegee Airmen's story before, I urge you to take a chance on this exceptional production. It's heart-felt, challenging, and certainly well-presented. Ford's has definitely started its 2012-2013 season out with a bang.
