Winners Announced For Critics Awards For Theatre In Scotland

Mercury Theater Artistic Director Christopher Chase Carter, Managing Director Kristi J. Martens and Executive Producers L. Walter Stearns and Eugene Dizon have announced Rock of Ages, the blockbuster classic rock musical. The show is written by Chris D’Arienzo. This production is directed and choreographed by Brenda Didier, with music direction by Linda Madonia.

The 2023 season kicks off with a hilarious retelling of a classic in The Quest for Don Quixote, by Mark Brown, directed by Allen Pontes; followed by a comedy about retirement, A Red Plaid Shirt, by Michael G. Wilmot, directed by Paul Fearn. 

ACTC presents its production of Around the World in 80 Days adapted by Mark Brown from the novel by Jules Verne. Danger, romance, and comic surprises abound in this whirlwind of a show as they travel over seven continents in one of the greatest adventures of all time!

Enough of Him - May Sumbwanyambe’s harrowing, but uplifting drama about the Joseph Knight, who freed himself from slavery through the Scottish courts, and Ramesh Meyyappan’s Love Beyond (Act of Remembrance), a poignant exploration of dementia in the deaf community - top the nominations lists.
