BSO to Perform Marvin Hamlisch Tribute Concert, 1/23-26

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly will lead the Orchestra in a special tribute concert to its former pops conductor, the late Marvin Hamlisch, on Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore and on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 26 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Featuring lead singer Marissa McGowan, the BSO will perform some of Hamlisch's best-known works, including "They're Playing Our Song," "The Way We Were" and "What I Did For Love" from A Chorus Line. Asolo Repertory Theatre will open its 2013-2014 season with SHOW BOAT, based on the novel by Edna Ferber, music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. This winner of the 1994 Tony Award for best revival features a score of timeless classics, including 'Ol' Man River, 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' and 'Make Believe.' Previews will be held tonight, November 12 - 14 and the show will run from November 15 - December 29. Opening night will be held on Friday, November 15 at 8pm. (more...)

Artists in Partnership Presents 11th Annual Cabaret Festival
