New York Premiere of L'AMANT ANONYME Set for 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will welcome the return of the little OPERA theatre of ny with the New York premiere of L'Amant Anonyme, adapted and directed Philip Shneidman from the opera by Chevalier de Saint-Georges, with a libretto by Desfontaines after Mme. de Genlis. Conducted by Elliot Figg with Art Direction by Sanford Biggers, L'Amant Anonyme begins performances on Saturday, March 12 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 20. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday & Saturday at 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $35 ($24.50 for 59E59 Members). dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, which offers role debut and training opportunities to emerging opera artists, celebrates its twelfth season of high-quality, affordable NYC performances with a Beaumarchais Trilogy featuring fully-staged productions of Il barbiere di Siviglia by Giovanni Paisiello, Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Rosina by Hiram Titus, and Les Belles et Les Beaus, a Beaumarchais Concert featuring excerpts of other settings of the Rosina/Figaro trilogy, including music of Rossini, Massenet, Milhaud, Corigliano, plus alternate arias from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro not heard in the mainstage production. The Metamorphosis Chamber Orchestra led by Artistic Director Pierre Lidar, collaborates for the season.

dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, which offers role debut and training opportunities to emerging opera artists, celebrates its eleventh season of high-quality, affordable NYC performances with a Shakespearean summer. The company's Shakespeare Repertoire Project (SRP) includes fully-staged productions of Salieri's 'Falstaff' and Purcell's 'The Fairy Queen,' along with a semi-staged production of Verdi's 'Macbeth,' and an evening of Shakespearean 'Songs and Sonnets.' Kicking off on August 7, 2014, the dell'Arte season takes place in the intimate, 160-seat East 13th Street Theatre, placing its audience feet away from burgeoning talent and timeless opera productions with chamber orchestra.
