Broadway was Brooklyn bound this morning as the cast and crew of On Your Feet! - the new Broadway musical based on the life and music of Gloria and Emilio Estefan - got on their feet, rolled up their sleeves and worked a bustling assembly line packing up huge Emergency Food Packages (EFPs) at the Citymeals-on-Wheels warehouse in Williamsburg. Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine: A Benefit Concert for Viva Broadway took place last night, September 14th at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan. They returned to New York City to perform a special concert comprising their greatest hits including: 'Get On Your Feet,' 'Conga,' 'Rhythm is Gonna Get You,' 'Mi Tierra,' and more! Media and Entertainment Commissioner Cynthia Lopez, the Made in NY Media Center by IFP, and NYCEDC have announced the creation of ten Made in NY Fellowships, a year-long program that will provide expanded resources and opportunities for New Yorkers to bring their media projects to the next level. The Made in NY Fellowship Program seeks to foster a diverse media industry, recognizing that different experiences, perspectives, and cultures are critical to advancements in innovation and creativity. Ten Fellowships will be available to those working on projects in documentary filmmaking, narrative filmmaking, gaming, post-production, animation, virtual reality, and media/technology. (more...)

For the eighth year the Lark will host playwrights from Mexico and pair them with bilingual U.S. playwrights, actors, and directors for a ten day cultural exploration that establishes ongoing channels of communication between artists in both countries.
