The T. Schreiber Studio for Theatre & Film, one of the country's foremost professional actor training and performance programs, just celebrated its 46th Anniversary Gala yesterday, April 26, 2015. The event honored Academy Award-nominee and T. Schreiber alumnus, Edward Norton, recently seen in the Oscar-winning films 'Birdman' and 'The Grand Budapest Hotel.'

Tonight before a crowd of 1,200 theatre-makers and theatre-lovers at the historic Lincoln Theatre, theatreWashington celebrated excellence on Washington stages at the 2015 Helen Hayes Awards. The awards celebration was a night of excitement and surprise as 57 Washington theatre artists, theatres, and ensembles received honors in 47 categories for their outstanding accomplishments during the 2014 theatre season. The event will honor Academy Award-nominee and T. Schreiber alumnus, Edward Norton, recently seen in the Oscar-winning films "Birdman" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel." The evening will also pay tribute to alumni Jonny Orsini (Fish In The Dark) and Julie Halston (You Can't Take It With You), who will serve as mistress of ceremonies. Paper Mill Playhouse has announced complete casting for the world-premiere musical Ever After, directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It), featuring a book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich.

Matthew Martin, who co-wrote the popular, Broadway-aimed musical Ghostlight with Tim Realbuto will duet with his co-writer Tim's upcoming Maury Yeston tribute concert, Realbuto announced this morning. The two best friends will duet on Yeston's Love Can't Happen from 'Grand Hotel.'

Nikki Blonsky, who was originally scheduled to perform in Tim Realbuto's Bookseller in the Rain Maury Yeston tribute concert, had to withdraw from the production due to a severe flu that has left her on bed rest with extremely strict orders from her doctors.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that THE TOXIC AVENGER, a musical which ran off Broadyway in 2009, might be heading to Broadway at last. A revised version of the musical ran at Houston's Alley Theatre in 2012, with hopes of a Broadway transfer. The project was directed by John Rando and featured music by Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and Joe DiPietro.
