BWW Recap: SUPERGIRL's Friends are All 'Changing' on this Week's Episode
by Nicole Ackman
- Nov 15, 2016
Everyone surrounding Kara -- James, Winn, Alex, Mon-El, and J'onn-- went through a major life change on this week's episode of SUPERGIRL. James and Winn debuted their combined creation of The Guardian, Mon-El dealt with whether he wants to be a hero or not, and J'onn received a threatening blood transfusion. Most poignantly, Alex came out to Kara in a stunning portrayal by Chyler Leigh. Meanwhile, the DEO team battled an alien parasite that proved to be a dangerous match even for Supergirl and the Martian Manhunter. The acting in this episode, especially from Chyler and Jeremy Jordan, was truly some of the best we've seen this season.
The McCallum Theatre Hosts International Sensations PINK MARTINI and DAME EDNA for Annual Fundraising Gala
by David Green
- Oct 6, 2016
The McCallum Theatre announced today that the international sensation and Valley audience favorite band Pink Martini will headline its annual fundraising gala to be held on Wednesday, November 30th, with a special appearance by the "global gigastar," Dame Edna. Pink Martini returns to the McCallum for this special evening following a sold-out run of five performances in the 2015-2016 season. Drawing inspiration from music from all over the world - brilliantly combining elements of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop - Pink Martini's diverse repertoire is a blend influenced by Cole Porter and Duke Ellington, Tito Puente and Xavier Cugat, as well as Argentine tango, Brazilian samba, Italian folk, Asian and romantic Hollywood musicals of the 1940s and '50s. According to bandleader/pianist Thomas Lauderdale, "If the United Nations had a house band in 1962, Pink Martini would be that band."

“Into the woods, you have to grope, but that's the way you learn to cope. Into the woods to find there's hope of getting through the journey.”
Yep, Liza certainly put those lyrics to the test this week… as she finds out how “worth it” her journey with Josh really is during a weekend away from the city — and pretty much all luxuries and technology. :-P Meanwhile, Diana and Hugh Shirley hit in a bump in the road just as their relationship begins to take off. Intrigued? Want to read more? Well, who's stopping you? Read on….

by Tyler Peterson
- Aug 28, 2015
Molly Smith directs her 30th production as Artistic Director of Arena Stage with a gritty and relevant take on the Tony Award-winning musical Oliver!, blending the chaotic worlds of 19th-century Victorian London with 2015 London. Smith's new in-the-round staging infuses a modern edge to the classic musical about an innocent orphan thrown into the dark world of double-dealing thieves and conmen, highlighting the disparity between classes and dangerous life on London's streets today. Featuring a remarkable score including 'You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two,' 'Consider Yourself,' 'Where is Love?' and 'Food, Glorious Food,' Oliver! runs October 30, 2015-January 3, 2016 in the Fichandler Stage at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.

While last week was dude-crazy what with the sex-capades of Josh and Liza and the developing romance between Kelsey and Bjonberg, this week, the boys were benched, and focus is shifted to the women. Specifically, the two with whom Liza has the closest relationships: bosom buddy Maggie, who she's known for years, and new gal-pal Kelsey, whose blossoming friendship is just as meaningful, though they've only known each other a few weeks. Here's what goes down:
