What did our critic think of MMMMM at Mmmm? Anna Aliau Guerra, a 29-year-old artist from Barcelona, Spain, who has been making waves in the city that never sleeps for the past six years. Recently, she concluded her final performance in the production of Cabaret at the Virginia Theater Festival, produced by Mathew Stephens in Charlottesville, Virginia. Portraying the character of Helga with grace and professionalism, Anna captivated audiences throughout the show.

Salgado, his company, and STAGES St. Louis delivers a touching story of fateful, forbidden and unrequited love with originality and panache. While Salgado’s choices are modernistic, it is his focus on the characters and their love story, told through Elton John and Time Rice’s score that allows this production to provide an emotional wallop. This may be different visually than what may be expected, but this performance has the impassioned heart of the original production.

On April 17, three high school students will experience the joy of live theatre in a whole new way - as playwrights. Annabelle Futch (of Greenwich), Savanna Shettler (of Danbury) and Ben Souza (of Shelton) were named winners of The Palace Theatre's 2023 Ernie DiMattia Emerging Young Artist Awards for their writing of an original one-act play. All three will witness their voices and visions come to life with a staged reading by professional actors at The Palace in Stamford.
