MCC THEATER has announced that film and TV star Douglas Smith, Pico Alexander, Lilly Englert, Lortel Award winner Annie Funke, Five-time Obie winner David Greenspan, Colby Minifie, Will Pullen, and Noah Robbins, will star in the New York premiere of Punk Rock, a new play by Simon Stephens and directed by Trip Cullman. Performances for Punk Rock begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on October 29, 2014. Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere new musical FOUND, directed by Lee Overtree, featuring a book by Tony Award nominee Hunter Bell ([title of show]) and Lee Overtree, music and original lyrics by Eli Bolin and choreography by Monica Bill Barnes, begins performances tonight Off Broadway at Atlantic Theater Company at the Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street).

SoLuna Studio will produce the musical CARRIE: THE MUSICAL as a part their professional mainstage season, with performances running October 17th - November 2nd. The Wilbury Theatre Group opens Season 5 with the New England premiere of This Beautiful City, written by Steven Cosson and Jim Lewis, with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. In October, the UW World Series will present the world premiere of Antigona, a new work by Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca. Hailed by critics everywhere for its transcendent and deeply emotional performances, Noche Flamenca is one of the most authentic flamenco companies in the world today, and Soledad Barrio is its star. Now, in a unique creative partnership, this remarkable company joins with acclaimed American theater director Lee Breuer to create a new work, Antigona, based on Sophocles' ancient Greek heroine. Combining live music, song, and dance, Noche Flamenca's Antigona will bring the fiery, expressive nature of flamenco to one of the world's great tragedies in an evening-length work that promises to be both gripping and intensely moving. The work is conceived and directed by Martin Santangelo with choreography by Soledad Barrio, consulting direction by Lee Breuer, and visual and mask design by Mary Frank.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Dracula, the Original Vampire Play, the second production in the 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season. Featuring iconic costume and set designs by Edward Gorey, the Alley's production is based on the original 1927 adaptation of the classic thriller that marvelously balances the menace of the horror tale with sophisticated satire.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's 'Intimate Apparel,' a love story that confronts race and religion, directed by Mary B. Robinson, from October 7 through November 1. 'Intimate Apparel' is the recipient of the American Theatre Critics and New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards for Best Play.

The Drama League has announced their Fall 2014 Programming Schedule of events and educational offerings at the Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas) in Tribeca.

Virginia's Signature Theatre has appointed Joe Calarco to the new position of Resident Director/Director of New Works. In this position, Calarco will continue to strengthen Signature's commitment to new work by shepherding the development of new musicals and plays and actively seeking the work of original and diverse voices. Calarco will also direct 1-2 shows per season and will continue his work with Signature in The Schools, Signature's flagship education program.

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents 'The Songs of Miller and Tysen' tonight, September 15th, 2014. Shows at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. Described as equal parts James Taylor and Stephen Sondheim, Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen's songs have been performed everywhere from East Village folk clubs, to Off-Broadway theaters, to Sesame Street. The concert will feature some of Broadway's best performers singing never-before-heard material from Tuck Everlasting, which premieres at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta this winter. The concert will also include favorite tunes from The Burnt Part Boys, and The Mysteries of Harris Burdick.

Goodspeed Musicals marks thirty years of fresh, innovative, and original new musicals at its Norma Terris Theatre with a riveting production of The Circus in Winter. This new work will run from October 23 through November 16 at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. ­
