BWW Review: The Stories Sisters Shall Tell in CCTC's LITTLE WOMEN: THE BROADWAY MUSICALBWW Review: The Stories Sisters Shall Tell in CCTC's LITTLE WOMEN: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL
by Kristen Morale - Apr 7, 2016

Cape Cod Theatre Company's production of Little Women: The Broadway Musical is really something special. As I couldn't give you a visceral explanation of what it made me feel, this is a story who's truest depth and exquisiteness - its true emotion - is to be found once the journey is complete, and even then does a new beginning have the means of springing forth. Both the story and the way it was performed on stage, with music to bring out what is nothing less than extraordinary about four average girls and what their lives amount to, has such a spark to it as only CCTC can make happen - not only with this but with every show the group chooses to do. by BWW News Desk - Mar 14, 2016

NEW YORK, March 11,2016 /PRNewswire/ It's been fifty-nine years, but it feels like a day, since The Cat in the Hat came to our house to play. Clearly the book has stood the test of time, as our feline friend and his 'Things' are U.S. adults' top unprompted choice when asked to name their favorite book from childhood. Runner up for the win is another beloved Dr. Seuss classic, good old Green Eggs and Ham. by Stage Tube - Jan 23, 2016

Today in 2005, Little Women opened at the Virginia Theatre (now the August Wilson Theatre), where it ran for 137 performances. Based on Louisa May Alcott's classic 1869 semi-autobiographical novel, it focuses on the four March sisters - brassy, tomboy-like, aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy, and kind-hearted Beth - and their beloved Marmee, at home in Concord, Massachusetts while the family patriarch is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio. The Broadway cast included Sutton Foster, Maureen McGovern, Janet Carroll, Jenny Powers, Megan McGinnis, and Amy McAlexander. (more...)
