Court Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Charles Newell and Executive Director Stephen J. Albert, announces casting for the Midwest Premier of Terry Teachout's Satchmo at the Waldorf, directed by Charles Newell.

John Schneider and Tom Wopat - the original stars of 'The Dukes of Hazzard' - will release a special vinyl version of their acclaimed holiday album HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. The LP will be available on Friday, November 20 at TomWopat.com. They will celebrate the vinyl release with concerts on December 5 (John Schneider Studios in Holden, LA), December 16 (The Lyric Theatre in Stuart, FL) and December 20 (a Tom solo show at the Ringling Theater in Baraboo, WI).

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts opens the 2015-16 Jazz series with Anat Cohen Quartet: Celebrando Brasil tonight, November 7, 2015 at 8:00 p.m at Miller Theatre (2960 Broadway at 116th Street). 

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) is pleased to announce the 2015 IncentOvate Program grant recipients: Court Theatre, the DuSable Museum of African American History, Goodman Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet, Lyric Opera of Chicago and Old Town School of Folk Music will be awarded competitive grants totaling $400,000 to support projects that advance the goals of the Chicago Cultural Plan and Cultural Tourism Strategy.

Louis Armstrong House Museum today announced that Dr. John, music icon; Cyril Neville, legendary musician and activist; Jerome Chazen, Chairman of Chazen Capital Partners, Chairman Emeritus of Liz Claiborne, Inc. and Trustee of the Louis Armstrong House Museum; and Robert F. Smith, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners and noted philanthropist and jazz aficionado, will be presented with the 'Louie Award' for their dedication to preserving and promoting the cultural legacy of Louis Armstrong at the Museum's annual gala on December 2, 2015.

On November 6th, the Dreamland Ballroom will host its 6th Annual Dancing into Dreamland dance competition and fundraiser. The annual fundraiser is to generate funds for improvements and renovations to the historic 99-year-old building located at 800 West Ninth Street.
