Inception To Exhibition Opens Its Fifth Anniversary Season, 10/4

Inception to Exhibition (ITE), NYC's only interdisciplinary arts organization fostering artist incubation, celebrates its fifth year with an evident mission to identify outstanding artists and pair them with residencies and performance spaces to further their artistic ambitions. Curated and presented by ITE, the 2014-2015 Season will provide audiences with an up-close view of professional New York artists at the peak of their creative powers. The intimate and unique offerings showcase the journey a work takes from studio to stage. With experienced artists from both the creative and performance sectors at the helm, ITE has supported 75 artists over the 5-year history of the organization. . (more...)

Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, opens its 2014-15 season in December 2014 with New Dances: Edition 2014 featuring four world premiere dances by innovative choreographers, Juilliard alumnus Austin McCormick (1st-Year Dancers); alumna Loni Landon (2nd-Year Dancers); Kate Weare (3rd-Year Dancers); and Larry Keigwin (4th-Year Dancers). Mr. Keigwin is returning to Juilliard where he already choreographed and premiered, in December 2008, Runaway, a large-scale piece that riffs on the high fashion runway scene, and in December 2009, Megalopolis. After last year's much-lauded season, ODC Theater's 2014 season offers a range of performances featuring established and emerging artists from around the country and as far away as Israel. Anchoring the season are two festivals: the return of the Walking Distance Dance Festival-SF in May, and spanning four weeks from July into August, the Music Moves Festival, a celebration of music and dance. In fact, the Theater's entire season is studded with concerts that feature dance and live music. The relationship between the two serves as a recurring theme for artists and audiences alike. Inception to Exhibition (ITE), NYC's only interdisciplinary arts organization fostering artist incubation, announces it's first annual dance festival. Over the five-day festival, March 12-14, 2014, ITE will bring together some of NYC's most talented emerging and established choreographers for an immersive focus on contemporary concert dance. The festival will feature a World Premiere from Gina Graham as well as 3 solos, 7 duets, and 1 trio from Jonathan Campbell, Austin Diaz, Danielle Russo, Loni Landon, Sidra Bell, Joe Celej, Francesca Harper, Loni Landon, David Norsworthy, Nicole Philippidis, Sydney Schiff, Take Ueyama, Nelly Van Bommel, and Andre Zachery. Loni Landon and Alex Soares Win Hubbard Street National Choreographic Competition

Terence Marling, Director of Hubbard Street 2 (HS2) and Hubbard Street Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton announce today the two winners of the 14th annual National Choreographic Competition (NCC), a program of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's Choreographic Development Initiative. 2013 winners Loni Landon of New York City and Alex Soares of São Paulo, Brazil, will each create an original work in fall 2013 while in residence at Chicago's Hubbard Street Dance Center.
