To commemorate the reopening of one of the most storied venues in theatrical history, Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) just shared a collection of reflections and anecdotes from Broadway and Hollywood personalities that celebrate the history of Boston's historic Emerson Colonial Theatre. Following a refurbishment by ATG over the past two years, the theatre reopened last night with the first preview performance of the pre-Broadway world premiere engagement of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

The 20th Annual Broadway Barks, the star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies, will feature celebrities from the hottest shows currently on Broadway. Just announced to join the event are: Aaron De Jesus (Jersey Boys), Katrina Lenk (The Band's Visit), Storm Lever (Summer: The Donna Summer Musical)

Amanda Peet's sophomore playwrighting effort OUR VERY OWN CARLIN McCULLOUGH has already been garnering rave reviews in its current world premiere at the Geffen Playhouse. Focusing on a ten-year-old tennis phenom and her close relationships with her tennis coach and single mom, kudos has been generously spread around the cast and the creatives. For the first time in over 20 years, Rodgers and Hammerstein's CAROUSEL is gracing the Broadway stage once again. The classic American musical tells the unconventional love story between Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan. This production sees Josh Henry as Bigelow, the charismatic but impulsive carnival barker, and Jessie Mueller as Jordan, an enduring millworker. For CAROUSEL to run without a hitch, the key is a cast that can bring it vocally and through dance. Henry and Mueller are joined by an incredibly talented cast- including Lindsay Mendez, Renee Fleming, and Alexander Gemignani- giving cause for this to be one of the most well rounded, talented casts of a musical currently on Broadway. The 2018 revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's CAROUSEL opened on April 12 at The Imperial Theater on Broadway. Craft Recordings partnered with the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization to  release the subsequent cast recording digitally on June 8, with a physical release date set for July 13.

Last night, Rick Miramontez celebrated the 10th Annual O&M Tony Awards Party at the Carlyle Hotel. Stars including Nathan Lane, Laurie Metcalf, Caissie Levy, Zachary Quinto, Gavin Creel and more packed into the legendary Cafe Carlyle to celebrate a successful Tonys and another tremendous Broadway season.
