ArtsEmerson, Boston's leading presenter of contemporary world theatre, proudly announces its 4th annual World Alive! Celebration. The fundraising event will honor Cicely Tyson with ArtsEmerson's inaugural Decade Award which will be presented every ten years to an artist that best represents the goals of ArtsEmerson for a performance in the preceding decade. Cicely Tyson reprised her Tony Award-winning performance as the feisty and funny Carrie Watts in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Horton Foote's beloved American classic The Trip to Bountiful at ArtsEmerson in 2014. World Alive! Lela Loren (“Power”) will play Danica Harlan in Season Two of Altered Carbon. Kept under wraps, Loren already has completed production on her Altered Carbon series regular role.

Emmy(R) Award winner and Critics' Choice nominee Niecy Nash (When They See Us, Claws) is set to star in Kidnapped: The Kamiyah Mobley Story, the first movie greenlit by Lifetime under the Robin Roberts Presents movie and documentary banner. Executive produced by the award-winning journalist, production is currently underway and also stars Rayven Symone Ferrell (The Hate U Gave) and Ta'Rhonda Jones (Empire), in the true story of a young woman who discovers at age 18, she was abducted as a baby and the family she knew to be hers, wasn't hers at all. Set to premiere in 2020, the film will be followed by a companion documentary featuring the real-life people depicted in the movie.

On Tuesday, March 19, 2019, Manhattan's Copacabana nightclub will be the setting for Miss Gay New York America, a spectacular drag show benefitting the Anti-Violence Project (fights LGBT hate crime).

Sports media executive Diane Penny has been named Senior Vice President and General Manager, NBC Sports Northwest, effective immediately. She will manage the day-to-day operations of the network, including production, digital, ad sales, operations and marketing, as well as the relationship with the Portland Trail Blazers. Penny will be based out of the NBC Sports Northwest office in Portland, Ore. The announcement was made by Bill Bridgen, President, Group Leader, NBC Sports Regional Networks, to whom she will report.

Tiffany Marie Smith (Supernatural) and Charlie Field (Genius) have been cast to take on the roles of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the Lifetime feature Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal. Filming begins later this month in Vancouver for a spring debut.
