Art Institute of Chicago Announces Robert M. Levy as New Chairman of Board of Trustees

The Art Institute of Chicago announces the election of Robert M. Levy as the organization's new Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Levy will replace Thomas J. Pritzker as the leader of the governing body of both the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Institute's Museum. Pritzker, who has served for eight years as Chairman, has been a trustee of the Art Institute since 1988 and will remain on the Board. Levy, who has been a trustee of the Art Institute since 2009, will take over as Chair when Pritzker's term ends in November.

The Council of Advisors of the Arts Horizons LeRoy Neiman Art Center and the Arts Horizons Board of Directors welcomed guests to the Second Annual a fundraiser, Art Splash 2013, Larger Than Life at the LeRoy Neiman Art Center (LNAC) in Central Harlem. The evening featured an awards ceremony, exhibition, buffet dinner, cocktails and a silent auction celebrated the legacy of the famed artist LeRoy Neiman and his vision to provide arts education to the young children of Harlem. The Fine Art Department Presents Wide Range of Collectables at Michaan's Auctions

The Fine Art Department presents a collectible range of works from American and European artists. Pieces include oil paintings, etchings, watercolors, lithographs, ink drawings and serigraphs. Featured in the April offerings is a serigraph on paper by Leroy Neiman titled "McRory's Whiskey Bar" (lot 047, $2,000-3,000). The scene depicts a packed bar full of revelers, merrily taking delight in the festivities of the pub. Neiman's signature style is apparent as the use of bold, saturated colors further bring a palpable energy to the image. Wildly popular the world over for his lively and vibrant paintings of sporting events and leisure activities, his work has been revered by millions. Before his passing in 2012, Neiman was bestowed with over twenty significant awards and citations, including the Victor Award and the ASAMA's Sport Artist of the Year in 2006.
