NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) announced that the second season of American Songbook at NJPAC will air beginning tonight, January 28th at 8pm on NJTV.

Erik Liberman, who will originate the role of 'Clopin' in Paper Mill Playhouse's upcoming production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, is making history as one-half of the first gay couple selling Tide in TV commercials.

Lyric Opera of Chicago announced today that Jenn Gambatese will portray Carrie Pipperidge in Lyric's new production of Carousel, on stage April 10 through May 3, 2015 (opening night April 11). Gambatese returns to Lyric following her critically acclaimed performance as Maria in last year's production of The Sound of Music, which just won 2014's Best Special Theatrical Event at the Broadway World Chicago Awards. After seeing the new INTO THE WOODS movie twice over the holidays, I posted on Twitter about how two of the songs had stuck with me. After a tweet conversation, my BWW colleague Jeff Walker and I decided to put our heads together to try and come up with a list of Sondheim's most hummable tunes. Despite not discussing it beforehand, Jeff ended up picking songs from the 1960s and 70s, and I filled in the gaps with numbers from the 80s and 90s.
