As announced this morning, Oscar-, Grammy- and Tony-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater have been nominated for a 2013 Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for their song 'More Or Less The Kind Of Thing You May Or May Not Possibly See On Broadway', which aired during the 'Sing Like A Larry Bird' episode of ABC's THE NEIGHBORS this season. If the duo takes home the award, Menken will have achieved the fabled 'EGOT' -- that is, he will have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.

ABC received 45 nominations for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards this morning, including nods for Kerry Washington and Connie Britton, both for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

BroadwayWorld took time to talk to Alan Menken about vying for the fabled EGOT, writing for television, and the possibility of creating a new musical series for ABC. Plus, Menken discusses ALADDIN opening in Toronto and on Broadway, redeveloping THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME for the stage with Stephen Schwartz, and new projects with Douglas Carter Beane, David Zippel and Harvey Fierstein, as well as seeing his work spread across the globe.

"Futurama" rockets into space for the (second) final time as the Emmy Award-winning series will conclude its long history with this summer's all-new season. The thirteen-episode summer run will premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, June 19 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT with the emotional series finale scheduled for September 4. Special guest stars for the final season include Larry Bird, Dan Castellaneta, Emilia Clark, Sarah Silverman, George Takei, Adam West and Burt Ward. The show's entire original voice cast will be returning. Including the yet-to-air season, this will bring the total number of episodes in "Futurama's" storied history to 140.

New series for the 2013-14 season are "Back in the Game," "Betrayal," "The Goldbergs," "Killer Women," "Lucky 7," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Mind Games," "Mixology," "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," "Resurrection," "Super Fun Night," "Trophy Wife" and new alternative series "The Quest."
