Steven Carl McCasland is a rising voice in the world of theatre. After their acclaimed and sold-out production of Little Wars in April, Beautiful Soup presents the last two works in McCasland's trilogy. The plays examine the lives of historical women in the arts. Beginning on August 27th, Shades of Blue: The Decline and Fall of Lady Day and What Was Lost, an examination of Laurette Taylor's preparation for The Glass Menagerie, will open at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre.

Beautiful Soup Theater will offer discounted marathon ticketing for both plays in their repertory program later this month. Audiences can save $6 and see both plays for $30 on marathon days: Saturday, August 30th, Wednesday, September 3rd and Sunday, September 7th. The winners of the previously announced Tim Realbuto/Jenna Leigh Green songwriting competition are Nathan Brisby and Lizzie Hagstedt, who wrote the original winning piece entitled Mesa Song. As part of their prize, they both received free tickets to Realbuto's star- studded 54 Below show last week, a chance to hear Mr. Realbuto and Ms. Green sing their original song in front of a live audience at 54 Below, as well as a meet and greet with Jenna and Tim after the show in the upstairs greenroom.

Kimberly Faye Greenberg is quickly becoming the 'go-to' gal for Fanny Brice, the legendary first female torch singer and comedienne of her time. A 1920's Ziegfeld Follies star, recording artist, film actor and voice of 'Baby Snooks' on the radio for 25 years, the Broadway musical Funny Girl, which then became a movie, was based on her life. Kimberly has been said to be 'the closest you will ever get to the real Funny Girl'. She won critics over when she appeared as 'Fanny' in the solo show One Night with Fanny Brice, Off-Broadway, receiving critical acclaim and a nomination for an IBTA Best Solo Performance Award.

Fans and performers from around the world have gathered to honor the memory of Elaine Stritch. In a new video created and edited by Steven Carl McCasland, Artistic Director of Beautiful Soup Theater, over 25 participants have gathered to celebrate her most famous song, 'The Ladies Who Lunch'. Arbender Robinson (Broadway's Les Miserables, Beautiful and The Book of Mormon) and nightlife personality Witti Repartee join Beautiful Soup Theater for an evening of stories and songs. Celebrating the music and life of Billie Holiday, whose life inspired Steven Carl McCasland's Shades Of Blue: The Decline & Fall Of Lady Day, this concert evening will benefit Beautiful Soup's World Premiere Production of that play. The previously announced Shades Of Blue... will run in repertory with McCasland's What Was Lost, a study of Laurette Taylor and Tennessee Williams at The Dorothy Strelsin Theatre beginning August 27th.

Tim Realbuto, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" star Jenna Leigh Green, and Kimberly Faye Greenberg will appear on MNN's The Ginger Show New York on Friday, July 18th, which airs live at 2:00 PM on Time Warner Cable Channel 34. The trio are there to promote Realbuto's upcoming 54 Below show Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help), which tells the story of Tim's exciting life as a child star before growing up to become the popular co-writer of the Broadway-bound musical Ghostlight.

Broadway legend Joy Franz, who starred in the original and revival companies of Into the Woods on Broadway, is the final cast member to join Tim Realbuto's July 24th star-studded 54 Below show entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help). Throughout the evening, each guest star will play a different person in Tim's life. Franz will play Tim's mother.

The 6th Annual Broadway Meows Concert for the Humane Society of New York will be presented at Don't Tell Mama, one night only, Monday, July 21st at 7pm. The evening will be comprised of songs by composer/ lyricist Seth Bisen-Hersh.

Tim Realbuto has announced a contest involving his upcoming star-studded 54 Below concert entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help). Beautiful Soup has announced that Kristen Gehling will replace the previously announced Francesca MacAaron as legendary stage and star screen Tallulah Bankhead in SHADES OF BLUE: THE DECLINE AND FALL OF LADY DAY... Gehling will also appear in repertory as famed director Margo Jones in WHAT WAS LOST.
