The Henry Mancini family continues to celebrate what would have been the late legendary composer’s 100th birthday with the announcement of The Henry Mancini 100th Sessions – Henry Has Company. The album is the latest installment in what will be a year-long endeavor honoring the 20-time GRAMMY® and 4-time Academy Award winner whose centennial is being celebrated on April 16th. The Henry Mancini 100th Sessions – Henry Has Company will be available June 21st via Primary Wave, and the first single, “Peter Gunn,” featuring Quincy Jones, John Williams, Herbie Hancock, and Arturo Sandoval, is out now. A stellar cast of Broadway babies and leading men will gather for one-night only this Sunday evening July 30, 2023, to honor the late, great Stephen Sondheim in Everybody Rise! A Sondheim Celebration. Curated by Robert Longbottom and Kevin Stites, Kevin conducts the most talented cast of Patti LuPone, Sierra Boggess, Sutton Foster, Skylar Astin, Norm Lewis and Brian Stokes Mitchell. I had the chance to chat with Skylar before he began rehearsals for Everybody Rise!

On May 21 of this year, BroadwayWorld threw a big party at Sony Hall in the heart of the theatre district, celebrating our 20th anniversary year online and in the community. It's an evening that I won't soon forget, and it all benefitted our longtime friends and collaborators at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. And the venue itself, Sony Hall, couldn't have been nicer to us or more cooperative. 

Broadway stars Skylar Astin, Norm Lewis and Brian Stokes Mitchell will complete the glittering cast of Broadway luminaries for Everybody Rise! A Sondheim Celebration on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the Hollywood Bowl. They are joined by previously announced three-time Tony Award-winner Patti LuPone, Sierra Boggess and Sutton Foster for this unforgettable concert program curated by Robert Longbottom and Kevin Stites and conducted by Stites.

Sunday night was a very special occasion here at BroadwayWorld. The best of Broadway gathered at Sony Hall to celebrate a huge milestone- our 20th Anniversary! The concert event benefitted Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

As I woke this morning in a hotel room in the heart of Manhattan, I somehow felt that I was waking up in a land of another time and space. The one single word that I can form in my head and heart is 'gratitude.'

Last night will go down in the books as a night to remember, especially if you happened to be at Sony Hall and witnessed the firestorm of talent that celebrated BroadwayWorld's 20th Anniversary under the musical direction of Kevin Stites and the direction of Richard Jay-Alexander.
