Rio Rancho High School of New Mexico Wins the Fifth Annual Vans Custom Culture Art Competition

CYPRESS, CA - Vans announces Rio Rancho High School of New Mexico as the winner of the fifth annual Custom Culture art and design competition. At the final event held on June 10 at New York City's Industria Superstudio, celebrity judges MKTO, Steve Caballero, Matt Shultz, Kemal Harris and Eley & Kishimoto selected the winning custom shoe designs among the top five finalist schools. Vans presented Rio Rancho High School with the grand-prize $50,000 donation to support its art program. Vans also awarded the four runner-up schools Carlsbad High School (Calif.), Cinnaminson High School (N.J.), Eastern High School (Ky.), Parker High School (S.D.) with a $4,000 donation each for their art programs. Nearly half of the companies that participated in the 'IDC Market Analysis Perspective: Worldwide Security Products survey' conducted by IDC in December 2012, believe that increasingly sophisticated attacks pose a serious threat to their IT infrastructures. It's becoming more and more common for cybercriminals to use dedicated malicious software to launch attacks on corporations, eschewing widely-recognised malware tools and making it harder to detect and repel intrusions. The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston hosted Jaston Williams, of GREATER TUNA fame, on Saturday, June 15, 2013 for two command performances of BLAME IT ON VALENTINE, TEXAS. BLAME IT ON VALENTINE, TEXAS, one of four one-man shows crafted by Jaston Williams, had its World Premiere on February 14, 2009 at the Lubbock Civic Center Theater as a benefit for Lubbock Community Theater. To create the show, he pulled several of his autobiographical vignettes from I'M NOT LYING and COWBOY NOISES. He also wrote a new piece, "The Screaming Part of China." (more...)
