On Thursday, September 8th, I had the pleasure of seeing THE EXONERATED at The Ridgefield Theater Barn, in Ridgefield, CT.  This show is amazing, based on true stories, and sends some deeply impacting messages that touch the emotions to the core, in a good way. It opens awareness in the minds of the audience, about things not always being as they seem, and people not always being who they may appear to be.

It's been more than 50 years since Mrs. Robinson seduced Benjamin Braddock-as well as film audiences-in Mike Nichols' cinematic classic, The Graduate. This summer, Dirt Dogs Theatre Co. pays homage to this iconic picture by incorporating film into its production of the play. The stage adaptation, written by Terry Johnson, not only features classic scenes from the film, but dialogue from the original novel, as well as new scenes created by the playwright. And while the play uncovers new insights into the characters that audiences have known all of their lives, the basic premise of the story remains unchanged. It is 1964, and Benjamin Braddock is leaving behind the safety of college for an unknown future full of insecurities. Enter Mrs. Robinson, the frustrated wife of his father's business partner, and Ben gets an education not found in any college curriculum.

Moving true stories of six people who were wrongfully convicted of murder get told from a first person perspective by a brilliant cast whose powerful portrayal of the exonerated evokes deep emotions from the audience, in THE EXONERATED.

We got a chance to talk with Tim, co-founder of The Actors' Gang and its current Artistic Director, the day after his latest directorial project ORWELL'S 1984 opened. See any of the productions Tim has directed and be challenged only not to be entertained, but thinking about what the play is saying.

At a time in Delaware where this topic could be no less poignant, Delaware Theatre Company is proud to announce the Delaware Valley Regional Premier of THE EXONERATED this February. Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, and directed by David Bradley, this critically acclaimed play induces a visceral reaction to stories of people unjustly sentenced to death.

This week they are joined onstage by Kathleen Chalfant as Sunny Jacobs, William Marshall as Delbet Tibbs Chris Sarandon as Kerry Max Cook, and Roger Waters as Gary Gaugher, as part of the rotating cast.

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Founder & Artistic Director), in association with Innocence Project, Marc & Steven Kaplan, and Cheryl Wiesenfeld, welcomes Broadway veteran Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America) and musical, singer-songwriter, composer Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) to the rotating cast of the 10th anniversary production of the hit award-winning play, The Exonerated, written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, for the final week of performances through December 2nd at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street at Lafayette Street) where performances began September 15th .

The Exonerated tells the true stories of six innocent men and women who were sentenced to death. As the separate testimonies unfold a picture is painted of the American criminal justice system and all that is wrong with it.

Marsha Mason will join the rotating cast November 13 -18.
