The true story behind the making of the American movie industry has as many ups and downs, twists and turns as the latest big-budget thriller, not to mention a cast of characters worthy of a shelf full of Oscars?. Now, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is telling the real story of the film industry in MOGULS AND MOVIE STARS: A HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD (working title), an ambitious new 10-part documentary series co-produced by Bill Haber's Ostar Productions and TCM. Haber (TNT's Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King; Broadway's The History Boys and Monty Python's Spamalot) will serve as executive producer, while Jon Wilkman will write and produce. Wilkman is a veteran documentary filmmaker whose work has been honored with four Emmys? and numerous other international film and TV awards.

If names like Mickey Rourke, Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, or Brad and Angelina have you poised on the end of your seat, then Bay Street Theatre is the place for you to be on Sunday, February 22nd, for the televised 81st Annual Academy Awards. Yes it's OSCAR Night at Bay Street, and it promises to be another fun-filled evening for the entire community to enjoy together, with doors opening for the red carpet coverage beginning at 7pm on the big screen. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Oscar Night coverage begins with Bay Street's own version of the red carpet, with local TV and media on hand. Dress up in high glam fashion (or not)-from ball gowns to torn jeans-all are welcome. Not only is admission free, but there is a chance you might even return home richer than when you arrived. That's because the evening will include a number of raffles for prizes, including free theatre tickets, interesting pieces from Bay Street's prop and wardrobe collections, a spa treatment, and a 50/50 raffle-where Bay Street will split the pot with the lucky winner.

Ralph Fiennes to Make Film Directorial Debut with 'Coriolanus'

Variety is reporting that Ralph Fiennes will make his directorial debut with a feature adaptation of William Shakespeare's Roman tragedy 'Coriolanus.' Fiennes, is currently starring in Stephen Daldry's 'The Reader' alongside Oscar-nominated Kate Winslet.
