Laughter and tears, gossip and home-grown advice are as prevalent as hair rollers in Truvy's Beauty Salon, the setting of the heartwarming comedy-drama Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling, playing at Bristol Riverside Theatre on March 20-April 8. Susan D. Atkinson directs an ensemble cast of BRT favorites including Jennie Eisenhower, Diane Findlay,Laura C. Giknis, Barbara McCulloh, Susan Moses, and Jo Twiss.

The Metropolitan Opera and The Juilliard School jointly announced plans today for a semi-staged concert performance of Gluck's Armide, the second collaboration between the two institutions, following last season's acclaimed new production of The Bartered Bride, conducted by James Levine and staged by Stephen Wadsworth.

Alfred Preisser and Tracy Jack's BLACK NATIVITY NOW, a holiday gospel pageant which begins preview performances Off-Broadway at the Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th Street in New York City on December 3, will donate $3.00 of each ticket sold during the first two weeks of its four-week run to help support The Jireh Meal Ministry at the Salvation Army Temple Corps.
